in usual fashion, if alethea wasn't hanging around on the outskirts of the party as a wallflower, she was looking for someone to cling to. and just as they stepped through the doors, eyes bewildered looking around, they were lucky enough to spot nova just on the other side of a couple. with a bright smile they made their way over to him, stopping just short of reaching for him. "hey." they breathed for a second, looking them up and down, hoping they weren't crossing a line. the two were friends now right? and friends could hang out for an evening. "first, you look hot." which was true, "second, did you come with a date, or are you going stag this year?"

despite seeing him periodically throughout the summer, leaky thought it would be a good idea to stop by and see nova, check-in now that the summer as ended and see how things were going, what the new year was looking like. even if nova didn't want to admit, the two were friends now. bounding up he made a few rapid knocks on the door before stepping back, arms crossed over his chest. "c'mon nova, ruth told you, you have to be nice to me this year!"

"fancy seeing you here." ida smiled, sliding up next to nova at the bar that had been set up. she leans over, her blonde hair cascading over her shoulder as she gives them a very kind smile. "so you gonna miss me next year? ogden just won't be the same won't it?" as much as ida loved to relish in the fact that this weekend should be all about her, and what she had done and what was next, she couldn't help but linger on the nagging feeling that she hadn't accomplished her goals fully. that there were people still standing in her way.
