The Music Industry is dying... duh
The powers that be phased out key components like talent, artist development, diversity and focused on popularity, streams, and gimmicks only.
Artists have to already come with homegrown fanbases and already developed or go insanely viral, and the label will scramble to make up for their shortcomings. This, combined with the predatory practices of the industry, has many artists going indie.
Where are the music platforms???
MTV & BET rarely plays music related content, bring back video countdown shows bring back music/pop culture related shows like House of Style, yo Mtv Raps, Mtv News, Teen Summit, 106th & Park etc. Include Indie artists not just mainstream. Include black artists of all genres, include poc artists, lgbtq artists, all genres, all ages.
PAY THESE ARTISTS, PAY THESE SONGWRITERS, PAY THESE PRODUCERS.
