Hey!! Little announcement! I have opened up a casting call for episode 9! There are 6 roles to be filled this time!

Episode 9 features Aquello's family, the king and queen of the sea Tritionius and Adreana, and his little sisters Trinita and Ashelley 🧜‍♂️🧜‍♀️

It also features Aquello's assistant Lori (you may have seen her in art before too!) And there are some voice lines for a classmate of Neil as well, namely Ferdic! (That's right, he's finally getting lines!)

Lori and Ferdic are also both trans btw! 🏳️‍⚧️

Casting a cis girl as a trans boy in The Last of Us series is more than sloppy. The character’s identity is central to his story, and he faces real, personal struggles, yet the role was given to someone who hasn’t lived that experience. This decision overlooks the realities the character represents and denies opportunities to actors who could bring authenticity to the role. If representation truly matters, it starts with giving these stories to people who can embody them.

Stop Calling It Confusion, Its Evolution

​We’ve all heard those backhanded comments that stay with us. When I was a teenager, my mom said some pretty out-of-pocket things that I’m still unpacking today. It wasn't just the "it’s a phase" line; it was that conditional support: “It’s okay to have these feelings, just not okay to act on them,” or “I have nothing against gay people, I just don’t want YOU to be gay.”

​That kind of logic is exactly what feeds internalized homophobia. It teaches us to deny our own reality to make the people around us more comfortable. But identity is ever-changing, and finding the right words for yourself is a journey, not a destination.

​My journey started early, and it has been a winding path of discovery:

​Grade School is when it first started. I first identified as a lesbian. I’ve had an attraction to girls for as long as I can remember, and I realized early on that I just wasn’t looking at boys the way other girls were.

But in ​High School, my understanding evolved into bisexuality. By now I had dated a few girls and boys to realize, I had attractions to both.

​ That identity continued to grow into pansexual, and most recently, I found the term omnisexual as I learned how gender extended past the binary. It’s the first word that truly "clicks" and accounts for the nuance of how I feel.

I’ve dated far more girls than boys in my life, though I eventually ended up marrying a man.

​A lot of people think that once you get married or in a committed relationship, your identity "stops" or settles. But being omnisexual isn't about who I'm with right now—it’s about who I am. Even though I’m married to a man, my attraction and my identity don't just switch off.

​Identity is fluid. It’s allowed to grow as you do. If you find a new word that fits you better today than the one you used yesterday, that isn’t "confusion"—it’s clarity. We shouldn't have to deny ourselves just because others find our growth "complicated."

​The Point

​I’m sharing this because I want you to know that if you’re still "figuring it out," you are exactly where you need to be. We’re all just trying to find the language that makes us feel at home.

You shouldn't have to deal with "conditional acceptance" from family.

You shouldn't have to worry about fitting into a box.
