I like Celestia, but despite roleplaying her I feel like I don’t actually know very much about her. I feel like her real personality and character isn’t really shown except when she’s been backed into a corner and angered. This is probably intentional to show how difficult it is to break through her facade, but it also leaves a great deal of unknowns. It’s evident that Celestia will manipulate people in order to achieve her goals, but this doesn’t necessarily mean she’s heartless or evil. A toxic person? Quite possibly yes. But in reality I think there are very few people who haven’t done some form of manipulation to get where they are, and most of them probably did not have the amount of motivation that Celestia would have.
I think my writing is good. It’s not fantastic, it’s nowhere near where I’d like it to be, but I still think it’s good. When I joined the Tumblr RP community some five or six years ago my writing was simply atrocious. But, like they say, practice makes perfect, and however many years later here I am parsecs ahead of where I was. You actually inspired me to improve my writing a lot because when we met I was still not at all confident in it and I thought you basically looked like the epitome of quality writing so I strived to be like you :^ ).
I don’t follow for follow. Or at the very least I try not to. I am fairly selective in who I want to have interactions with, but I need to have a fast and active dashboard or else I lose my shit. Since my go to selectivity is interacting freely with mutuals this has occasionally led to me interacting with people I didn’t really want to interact with but that’s neither here nor there. It happened, whatever.
One liners are arguably one of my favorite things to do because you can just volley back and forth so quickly. Obviously there tends to be a lack of depth in them (with some exceptions), but as stated above I need things to be fast and happenin’ otherwise I’m not too happy so I like to have a lot of one liners and stuff like it.
If Tumblr wasn’t a really convenient roleplaying medium you can bet your ass I would never step foot within a ten mile radius of it. People get butthurt over anything you can imagine, there’s a hell of a lot of immaturity, and every month or two the user interface gets butt fucked and you have to spend two weeks relearning it. It sucks.
16. On roleplaying in general:
I like roleplaying a lot. I’ve been doing it in one form or another (usually verbally) for literally as long as I can remember. I got into organized roleplaying a while ago when my dad and I started play D&D at a local-ish game shop, and then a couple years after that I came to tumblr. I think the tumblr roleplay community has its problems but overall I think it’s a decent place. Since I tend to use roleplaying as a way to write and a way to get out of my real life the community on tumblr does it’s job I think.
