The 3rd edition of #nrdcita No Limits Day has come to a close, but its message will resonate far beyond today.
A heartfelt thank you to all athletes, volunteers, schools, institutions, and partner organizations who made this day so meaningful. Your energy and commitment truly brought the spirit of "No Limits" to life.
Let’s carry this momentum forward and continue breaking barriers—together.
Hoping all of us can keep moving and keep fighting the current as we head into a new winter of discontent. A portion of sales will go to the Natural Resources Defense Council in hopes of slowing some of the oncoming destruction.
Wild salmon are an integral part of the ecosystems of the West Coast—but, they are in crisis. NRDC lays out what is at stake and three important ways that you can help.
Taking salmon out of the West Coast is like pulling the threads out of your parachute—expect a crash.

Got pests? Think twice before reaching for the poison. The CDC says that the average American has around 43 different pesticides in their blood stream due to dependence on industrial pesticides. These chemicals can trigger serious health issues down the line such as lung damage, cancer, and reproductive harm. If the good old-fashioned fly swatter fails, take a minute to learn about IPM steps, Integrated Pest Management, from the NRDC.
You don’t often hear positive news of the environment- especially in the U.S. these days, so when an email from the Natural Resources Defence Council of a similar title showed up in my inbox …
The NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council) has been bringing an environmental lawsuit against the current United States administration an average of every 10 days. Of the suits that have been settled, the vast majority have been won in favor of the environment.
The NRDC recently released a newsletter going over some of their major victories:
-Reversal of 25 drilling and fracking permits in the Greater Chaco Region of New Mexico
-Blocked the Interior Department from re-opening loopholes that would have let oil and gas companies avoid paying royalties for drilling on public land
-Upholding a permanent ban on offshore drilling in the Arctic Ocean and wildlife-rich Atlantic deepwater canyons
-Moving forward a petition to add giraffes to the Endangered Species Act, which would prevent the importation of giraffe bone carvings and trophies
-Getting the Gulf of Mexico whale listed as endangered, which affords it vitally needed protection
Currently, the NRDC is still in the process of fighting to save the Clean Power Plan, protect national monuments from development, restrict the use of bee-killing pesticides, and block the Keystone XL pipeline.
The NRDC is one of the strongest environmental lobbies in the United States. If suing politicians and organizations that are trying to damage the environment sounds like your kind of deal, supporting the NRDC can be a great way to join the cause of environmental protection!
The political arm of the Natural Resources Defense Council announced it is backing Biden.
Excerpt from this story from the Washington Post:
Joe Biden further consolidated the support of mainstream environmentalists by scoring the endorsement of a major green group on Wednesday.
The political arm of the Natural Resources Defense Council announced that it is backing the former vice president in his bid to beat President Trump.
Citing Biden's four decades working in Washington, the group's chair Gina McCarthy wrote in a blog post that the nation"need a leader who can rebuild us from the crises we are reeling from today, and make us stronger and more resilient against the demands of the next. That person is Joe Biden.”
McCarthy served as President Barack Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency chief for four years.
The nod from the group’s campaigning apparatus, NRDC Action Fund, comes after Biden made gestures to win over environmentalists since locking down the nomination. Since posting big wins on Super Tuesday in March, Biden has also locked down support from the political arms of the League of Conservation Voters and the National Wildlife Federation, as well as an endorsement on Earth Day from former vice president Al Gore.
The NRDC Action Fund expects to spend $7 million to $8 million on the 2020 election — a relatively small amount in the big-dollar world of federal elections. But it will recruit its roughly 75,000 members to volunteer for campaigns and encourage about 1 million more on its email lists to vote.
Urge your representative to cosponsor the SAVE Right Whales Act now and help save critically endangered North Atlantic right whales from extinction.
The North Atlantic right whale's status is increasingly grim -- only some 411 of these majestic whales remain on earth. Without action to end deaths and serious injuries from incidental entanglement in fishing gear and ship collisions, the species could be driven to extinction within our lifetime.
