the wave of folks like Transformistress (@thetransformistress) and CrownCosmo (@crowncosmo) who are making purposefully trans (in the LGBT sense) TFTG content has been a real blessing in the face of the traditional market trends of the subgenre. as refreshing as it is to get work written by folks who understand gender, though, that on its own isn't always enough to ensure that the work scratches my particular itches.

there's something compelling about the angle of the relationship that already existed, y'know? a community that you were always a fellow-traveller with, but never actually a part of... and the opportunity, through the change, for that separation to be dissolved. and the ability for this change to be, in a way, a second lease on life for someone who thought he'd gotten to the end, only to discover that something even more wonderful awaits.
