concepts for how i'm thinking Tenna and Spamton would be normally (before the nightly horror routine)

yap under cut about what i'm thinking at the moment:

Tenna would be a normal TV that Spamton had in his apartment since he's a sucker for old tech (thinking about that playing a role in his early lack of sales but thats just a tidbit), but would still be sentient. The situation would sort of be like how objects are Darkners in the darkness, but with Tenna taking his form in Spamton's dreams.

Every night, Spamton would fall asleep watching TV. He'd have lucid dreams parallel to his apartment, the only thing changing being... well, Tenna. Because he fell asleep in front of the TV, Tenna would be able to manifest in the dream and be aware of such. Spamton would be excited to see the TV he loves so much have a physical form; and Tenna would be overjoyed to finally interact with his biggest fan. The pair would be inseparable.

Up until it turns into a nightmare, at least.

When the dream turns into a nightmare, the horror content of this AU begins. Dreams often have odd transitions, and Spamton's are no different. Typically around midnight, the TV will air any random horror show or movie since it was never turned off before Spamton fell asleep. The lucidity of the dream will fade and Tenna will transform; not back into a TV, but into something sinister and terrifying. This is no longer the conscious and aware Tenna, but rather a hazy mix of Dream Tenna and the horror film since Spamton is no longer lucid.

During this time, "Nightmare" Tenna will try to terrify and even kill Spamton in any way possible, finding amusement in doing so. Each nightmare is different from the last. It will quite often use Tenna's normal form to lure in Spamton and twist things from there. Since the horror show aspect is so prominent in that part of the dream, "Tenna" will get more control of the dream, being able to manifest itself in dark corners and such rather than being limited to the TV itself within the dream.

This is all subject to change as I work on this more!! Take this all with like, a cup of salt.

So, have a few tidbits to finish this post off:

-Spamton is absolutely an objectum freak (/silly) for the TV, old tech in general, and the cars he repairs and sells. Now obviously he'd keep things professional while he works, but he loves his older convertibles. The Addisons will poke fun at him for it, but nobody actually cares what he likes.

-The Addisons are not siblings, they're a close friend group, though some may see each other as sibling-figures. (Spamton always saw Blue as an older sibling, as opposed to seeing Pink and Yellow as friends to look up to.) Further, Spamton didn't make it big enough to surpass them, only enough to keep up, so their friend group stayed together.

-In the nightmare version of the dream, "Tenna" can appear as a normal TV and crawl out of said TV. Sort of like the girl crawling out of the TV in The Ring.

The TV World does not exist in this AU (or, maybe it will, I'm not sure yet) since the Dark Worlds already exist, and normally the dreams/night terrors take place in Spamton's own apartment. To make up for this, Tenna will sort of split itself apart and transform into the TV World's Darkners to scare Spamton.

Lanino and Elnina are technically the same entity since they both handle the weather channel, so they cannot both exist at once. However, they can form an amalgamate of the two by trying to shift into both at the same time. They only exist within the TV and cannot leave it.

Something else that I forgot to mention for Lanino's function is that he will also report evacuations if the "weather" is bad enough.

It's a sort of scale. Lanino handles the "lesser" weather (things that are not emergencies) up to things like earthquakes, unbearable heat waves and fire storms, shich then he will issue an evacuation watch until further notice. Elnina will then take everything worse up until the genuine emergency weather alerts.

"Friend" Tenna, or nightmare Tenna manifesting outside of the TV, would normally take a shadowy form of Spamton due to it being his dream.

It can't fully leave the TV, it's always connected to the screen, but can stretch itself outward to move around. It cannot leave the room that the TV is in like this.
