Yesterday, we passed by Meredith Willson’s boyhood home and The Music Man Square on our way out of Mason City. River City (there’s trouble there!) is based on the real life Mason City, where Willson lived. We are performing in New Town, ND, today and had some time to kill before the show. I looked up places to see, and we found the Crow Flies High Butte Historical Site. This lookout point has a beautiful view of the Missouri River and the former location of the Sanish village. Also of note, it is part of the Lewis and Clark Expedition Trail and very close to a couple of their campsites.
