Watershed is a cross-artform venue and producer, sharing, developing and showcasing exemplary cultural ideas and talent.
Projects emerging from the Pervasive Media Studio at Bristol Watershed. The Nth Camera project is particularly interesting, allowing a group of people to film simultaneously through a video app project. Once, they’ve filmed they can then upload to the web and create video mosaics with the footage captured at the same time. After, my talk at the PM Studio, I was introduced to Tim Kindberg who is the man behind the project, and we talked about how the uniqueness of the project comes from the mosaics. The videos captured are not compiled together into a linear video and posted on YouTube, rather the makers of the work can create spatial montages with the videos, and continually change them. I think the project is really fascinating, and think it has so much potential to globally capture moments, and create communities of video capturers, linked via their want to record moments. They’re current slogan is “mosaic your world” which is a nice idea indeed.
