playing around with my chibi style again. i draw these two way more than i ever thought i would.

and, yeah, that’s the kid who broke his glasses and butchered his hair and threatened to kill everyone with a nuclear powered death machine. in the end, the only person he’s ever really hurt is himself. he was constantly and consistently sabotaging every chance he had at happiness. yes, he was trying to punish his mother, but in reality he punished himself by never allowing himself to be loved by her. 

his trials and tribulations as a clone left him as a very sensitive and highly empathetic person, though he doesn’t openly express it.  whereas while dewey has an extremely sweet disposition, there’s a part of him that’s very cold. the death of his mother impacted him directly. he was the most affected by huey’s neglect whereas lou genuinely never wanted any contact with huey. the more lou could distance himself from his genetic original the more he felt like he wouldn’t be subject to adapting any of his traits. dewey actively sought out huey and huey shunned him up until a very pivotal moment near the end. so at times dewey can be very stern, even apathetic. lou is a deeply emotional person and can’t do anything without feeling something. dewey learned how to shut it all off so he could move forward.
