I know next to nothing about jojo but I really wanna get into it! Do you have a favorite character? Or multiple?

god yes where do i start. this is gonna be long. you can ask for more opinions if you want im just dhdjfh shy

okay okay okay. before i say anything if you want to start id reccomend starring with the anime and starting with part one.

each "part" of jjba has a (mostly) entirely new cast of characters and a new jojo, if you didnt know djdjdjdkdn

(i say this because there is a bit of a debate on wether to start from part one or three.)

i say start with the anime to at least get through phantom blood (part one) and battle tendency (part two.) the reason i say to start with the anime instead of the manga is because, while the manga is endearing in the way eighties style manga art is, it is butt ugly. thats just the truth. the anime is gorgeous to look at, though low budget. also the anime cuts most of the offensive content that was in the manga but its still a bit :/ to start off on. it was written in the eighties. if youd like reccomendations after that, lmk! dont wanna make this chunkier than it already is.

okay okay okay. so for favorite characters? most if not all of them lmao um my favorite favorite has to be a tie between jotaro and jolyne (bc im basic) BUT i think josuke and giorno are probably the most well written jojos overall.

i have a soft spot for speedwagon (i literally cannot see him as anything but a gay man) and i LOVE love love jonathan, hes such a sweetie. i really appreciate gothic vampire aesthetics so phantom blood is just. mwah.

and my favorite villains... i love all of them EXCEPT valentine he doesnt fucking exist lmao. my favorites are probably like. Kars and DIO because i love the godly feeling they have and my least favorite is probably the villain for part five (not gonna talk about that too much bc the anime for five is coming out now, i just dont think hes connected enough to the story as a whole to interest me as much. :/ like i love him as a character a lot but i dont think he plays as meaty a role as the other villains do. Kira is second least favorite in that vein but i really do like him too lol)

OKAY SO it’s kind of dumb but

for Skiara I basically daydreamed her story,, she was human before she was a nymph. As a human, she was looked down on a lot and constantly made fun of for worshiping Hades (since in the Hercules universe, Hades is like the “satan” of Greece and I assume people that worshiped him were cast out). After having enough of that, she ran off to find an effigy or a temple to commune with him - there aren’t many temples of him, so she travels far and wide to find one but only comes across a tiny little statue in the middle of nowhere. 

She’s surprised to find that when she does try to speak with him, he actually appears and her dork-ass explains how much she adores him and wishes for nothing more than to live in the underworld with him. But as a mortal, she can’t do that - so she makes a deal to give her undying love to him, and in exchange, she will be turned into a nymph of her choosing.
