The US record industry was in a slump in the late 70s—disco was dying and music fans weren’t enamored of the UK punk and new wave sounds that labels were pushing at them. In one particularly daring attempt to buck the trend, Epic decided to release a series of 10-inch EPs by different, mostly new artists and call the series Nu Disk. It flopped big time; only eight titles were released though there were a few other 10” records from the label around then (Nina Hagen, for instance) that could be considered honorary Nu Disks. Likely the two most collectible Nu Disks were the Clash’s Black Market Clash (considered a classic by their fans) and this, Cheap Trick’s Found All The Parts. This one is still sealed with not only the hype sticker, but also the price tag from long-dead department store Korvette’s.
