most of this is copy and pasted from when i talked about it to a friend
I went through what I can of his tag on tumblr, and there was this post saying something like "naoki shouldve replaced yosuke hes much better" WHICH got me thinking what if naoki actually was in the IT? Id imagine in an au where he was in the IT his shadow would probably come in a bit into the story, because by then hed be dealing with everyone bothering him about sakis death and then he gets kidnapped.
Like IMAGINE If he was kidnapped, itd mean hed have to be on TV, so like the school made such a big deal about naoki and his sisters death that people actually came to interview him, in which after that is Nametame’s cue to kidnap him
Imagine what people would think.... He disappears after being bothered so much about his sisters death. To people who think the murder case was solved they’d be probably thinking he ran away because he couldnt handle all of the stuff about his dead sister, or they could also think worse like he had enough of it and so he went and died.
Imagine what his shadow would be like.... His shadow would probably come in after naotos shadow, I think thatd be the best timing for it
I cant imagine then just getting together after Sakis death, itd be hella awkward - So id say they had to have dated sometime in the past, and of course they loved eachother n shit, but then they broke up. Id imagine that saki coukdve figured out that naoki and yosuke were together, and probably was upset with it and didnt approve of the relationship, which could factor into why she dislikes yosuke bc he dated her brother - And so the two probably broke up to avoid drama with saki, as well with the general drama between their two families
and after Sakis death, despite them still liking eachother(even tho naoki kinda resents him after saki’s death) they still didnt get back together maybe bc of course saki disapproved, and though shes dead it could be seen as disrespectful to her n stuff bc both of them loved and cared about her, naoki more than yosuke I can also see why yosuke tried so hard to get close to saki to prove he isnt actually a bad person or anything, or maybe to prove to her that he likes girls as well and that could also be why he tried to get together with her as well, in which I imagine he did have some type of like for her as well, idk yosukes a mess -
If they were to get back together, itd have to be post story, because prior to that, naoki is antisocial because his sisters death and because the killer hasnt been caught yet either so saki hasnt been avenged, also due to intense grief over saki he wouldnt be ready for a relationship
As for yosuke, hes pretty busy because of all the Midnight Channel shit, and also too busy trying to act straight
But after story, naoki gets his shit together, yosuke still acts straight, but of course he cant deny his past with naoki, and the two still love eachother and so after a bit of awkward talking the two could get back together
What if yosukes shadow mentioned something about naoki? Like while talking about saki and how shes dead, and how yosuke actually didnt like her in that way, Shosuke mentions something about idk her brother being more of his type or something like that...and yosuke cannonly just panics whenever someone brings up his shadow and asks what his shadow said because only yosuke and yu saw it (which is completely understandable i would too)

Now time for Naoki’s shadow - as i call “Shaoki”
Things he’d mention/say:
Shaoki talks about how much a burden Saki's death was and how pissed he is at her for leaving him to deal with everything alone
He's pissed off at all of the pity and the way everyone gossips about him and is constantly bothering him about his Sister's death and the killer
He'd mention his previous hatred for Yosuke, and how it influenced him to feel about Yu
Mentions how abnormal he is for not crying properly, he'd say something about how he is always mistaken for not caring, and that it'd be better off if he really didn't care
He'd poke at how it took him months to actually go to the place saki was found and accept her death
Mentioning how he was at fault for her death, and him blaming yosuke because he encouraged Saki to work for Junes which as time went on made her more and more miserable
Naoki's shadow would most likely mention his past relationship with yosuke or mention something about liking him in some way - maybe while talking about how he is pissed off with saki, like just mentioning what she did to their relationship as well
Design:
his design would resemble a grave robber/necromancer, in which i made 2 designs for him (the extra text at the top is because it was for a college project)
His palace design would be that of a cemetery/grave yard
