Please, unity tech... add better documentation for scene view stuff. I shouldn't have to google for two days and try stuff to get something this stupidly simple to work (somewhat) properly!

Man I will be happy when I don't have to keep my room at 60F to keep this pc at normal running temperature. Had an incident several months back (almost a year) that caused the CPU fan to fail, and the processor to overheat a few times. Ever since then, it has been getting hot really easily, and sadly enough, its a model of CPU they don't make anymore (Intel E6850). Yes, I do have a new fan on it. Yes, it is an aftermarket type.

Sucks being poor man, sucks. For the machine I want (best of the best, literally) would cost me about $1600 - 2000, maybe 2600 if I get the best video card. (these are bought parts, yes. Not pre-made.)

Honestly, for a 2006 machine, this one is doing fantastic. Really surprised that it has run as long as it has.

I guess I am due for some actual updates...

... rather than just reblogs and likes.

Seems like every day I'm doing more and more when I am actually doing less and less. I do guess it is kind of nice to take a small break from any actual work, and settle on learning and reading for a bit. Seems this past week I have done absolutely nothing except place a few cubes in Unity and mess with some existing code. Really badly have this itch to code up some kind of new mechanic, but no idea what exactly to write up. Suppose I could learn file I/O and text parsing. Something I have been meaning to do, but keep forgetting or putting it off. Bah. Perhaps I will work on that tomorrow.

One thing I know for certain, is that I wish to bring back developer consoles in finished games. It was always fun to break stuff, or spawn 100s of melons in Skyrim's case. I do have one operational, but it only spawns point lights... really have to get to work on fixing that and making it more modular.

Other than that total random mind wondering, I have been discussing with a good friend various game ideas. Something that has been done for almost 2 years now with no real good leads, except for maybe one or two. One of which, is much too large for a 2-man indie group. The other has possibilities of being outright whimsical and silly, but fun and challenging if done right (think a puzzler like Portal, but with silly sounds, bright hand-painted-style-esque graphics, and no portals). <-- still working on that one obviously. Just a spur of the moment idea.

Not entirely sure what direction I should personally take myself. Rather to take up programming as a whole, or push myself to work on art more (a subject that has long been stale for me). That is just something I have to sort out myself, as it is an internal conflict that I really need to resolve, and has been persistent for several years now.

Anyway, I am rambling at this point and am going to stop there. Now that I have this wall of text going, it is bed time for me, as I am zoning out repeatedly while writing this.
