Is there a story behind the character you use as your profile picture? They look really interesting :D

The character's name is Butch and they're a chemeleon - a mutated chameleon.They’re the antagonist in the short thesis film I was planning for my Master’s. (I never finished Nukeland/got my MA degree and at this point I don't think I will, for many reasons. Mainly because I don’t see the point.)You can read more about the project here, there's a very basic animatic too. 

Fluffy and Butch are still close to my heart, even if I don’t draw them regularly. I think they would be good candidates for practicing animation with new software I’m learning.

Random crap test drawings. Since my bamboo did not have tilt sensitivity, most of my brushes work completely different on the Cintiq. It’s a bit irritating that my favorite brushes work nothing like they used to but I know it will boost my productivity and speed in the long run.

Suprisingly, DHL didn’t mess it up completely and I managed to redirect the package to a Pak Mail nearby. Success! I saw rannef-art‘s fancy transparent business cards and thought I’d give them a try myself. I'm really into vertical designs so there you have it. They also make a funny sound.

As promised, a species guide for the CHEMeleon, as seen (or more like “to be seen”) in my animated short, Nukeland. (Props to cameronaugust for the awesome species name!) Chemeleons are a post-apocalyptic race of mutant chameleons grown to the size of a hippo (at max) with the level of intelligence similar to dogs’. They’re mainly carnivores that like to prey on the less fortunate creatures of the wasteland. Their cunning and formidability makes them the perfect hunter. When two Chemeleons meet to reproduce, they decide which one gets to lay and hatch eggs by dueling and showing dominance. The egg laying parent then chases away the weaker partner and raises 1-6 hatchlings. Separation happens from one day to another, as the "mother” quickly loses sense of parenthood and chases off its own offsprings. Chemeleons are solitary creatures who seek out each other for mating/duels only.

Sweet! I'm sure you already know that deathclaws are FEV mutated Jackson's Chameleons? This guy here is almost scarier than a deathclaw, mostly because I can't quite see what it is or what exactly it's doing.

Yepper, Deathclaws were the main reason why I chose a chameleon as the antagonist for Nukeland. I find it a bit ridiculous that something so different from humans ended up being so anthropomorphic in the end, I mean... come on, 6-pack and fuckin’ ripped arms? (Same with Mirelurk kings tbh) I wanted a character that’s a nod to something I love but can also be interpreted in a silly way. Chameleons are pretty dang stupid looking so it was the perfect choice!

And he’s about to chew on Fluffy’s severed head here! :)
