LIKE THEY’RE IN A COMMAND ROOM WAITING FOR A MEETING TO START AND MAYBE ONE OF THEM -PROBABLY A’DEN- DECIDES TO DO AN EXTERNAL SPEAKER LINK AND THEY’RE JUST SERIOUSLY JAMMING OUT AND WITHOUT THINKING THEY START INTO A SYNCHRONIZED DANCE SESSION AND THE DOOR SLIDES OPEN AND no one is even a little surprised.

He just...KRIFF!"  Hands sweep across the mantle, knocking off everything in sight, shattering glass, breaking skin, until she collapses, sobbing "He never tried to find me, I was never good enough, and I never will be." Hands streaked with blood try to catch her tears, and again, aren't enough.

He says I love you with the light brush of his fingertips along her arm and by maintaining physical contact with small touches, whether that be nudging her shoulder with his own, or resting his hands on her hips; he says it by playing with her hair as they fall asleep, with a smile, with the occasional bad joke. And even though he he doesn't have to express it with words, sometimes he does: in a whisper through labored breaths when they're alone, written in the steam on the refresher mirror.

For someone who thought sh'd never have this, had never really wanted this, she's amazed by how much she needs it. How empty the moments without it are. Every touch, every word, every gesture he makes only makes her want more and all to do all she can to make sure he feels the same.
