All Things Omega is taking a quick break during our Winter music bonus round. @goettels gave us some questions to answer!
#6: Favorite band?
I have many! One that takes precedent over all is Indecision / Most Precious Blood. They come from an era where they don't concern themselves with indiscernible walls of noise, how pissed-off they sound, or how fast they can play to people who stand at the back of the space with their arms crossed. They hit the bullseye delivering the right about of anger and rage fueling their music. I can relate to them because they're more realistic than cliche. Also, they're from New York City. It doesn't get any better than that.
Other similar favorites I'm heavily into are Uniform, Unsane, Incendiary, Ministry, Sanction, Capra, and Heriot. And that's only the heavy stuff.
#16: Favorite movie?
I'm currently putting together a top five for this. But, I'll give you one to tide you over: Carrie ('76). Billed as one of the most terrifying revenge fantasies put on film. Sissy Spacek plays a bashful, introverted strawberry-blonde who is relentlessly tormented in high-school by the other girls, and later turns the tables on them (and many other innocent victims) in what is an amazing hellish finale. It's also the best analogy to a woman's cycle put on film; as evident by the opening scenes.
As someone who has a huge interest of the Seventies, Carrie has a place in me like it does with my favorite stale vinyl records, game shows, and the overall esthetic of the era. (I also believed the girls were some of the loveliest when I first seen this film during high-school. There's no other equal when it comes to all-naturals.)
#11: Age?
There are some things I don't reveal :)
Though, people do say I look a lot younger than I am. Chalk it up to being smoke-free, alcohol-free, and drug-free.
Thank you @goettels!
