Break week is an asshole

I honestly don't understand it's concept. My initial understanding was that it's a week where you essentially regather your bearings on your classes, catch up and prepare to move on. WTF DO I GET 20 MORE ASSIGNMENTS WHEN I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THE HE HAPPENED IN WEEK 1 Recess week has legitimately just started (its Saturday) and the tension of it has already badly aggravated my current physical injury that doesn't seem to cure. Plus that chronic headache I thought I'd gotten rid of on Thursday. Too.much.work.

Completely haunted by the fact that my friends are more than halfway through a 1000 word paper due tomorrow and I've yet to start. I'll be working hard for that bloody B+ this semester again...Whats the point of trying anymore when I'm no good at it? I keep deluding myself that I can understand anything but lately I continuously come to the realisation that I'm incapable at nearly everything...

Some people plan ahead to the extent that you can only stand up and applaud for them. I mean, really, I didn't even know how to get to my lecture theatre in yr 1 and you were already meeting up with profs to discuss research projects? Magnificientsss

Quite a hassle

It's week 4 already. I mean where did all that time go seriously

I feel really constricted. It's somewhat an unbalanced situation. My modules are a bit off right now. My lvl3 cardio is round a bout the only thing that goes at a proper pace now, with actual info being taught. Problem is its so heavy laden I havent had time to focus on it. Cell Bio is some floatsam jetsam happening rn. Like the prof probably has no idea what he's teaching. He keeps jumping from one random idea to another. And ot seems like he doesn't even intend on teaching any info. It's all "analysing research papers" and shit. LIKE WHAT DO I NEED YOH FOR. But to complicate matters he assigned all of us a DRAWING ASSIGNMENT. what. And he plans on throwing down a writing assignment and a quiz by the end of the week. Which is, by the way, the day my Bioinformatics essay is due. Stupid essay. I actually forgot for a moment that I take Stats as well. I mean we havent had any tutorial and the lecturer's been MIA half the time. Bahasa is ok so far. So far...

My main issue is with sleeping. I always have trouble sleeping but ir doesnt generally bother me when I can wake up on time. But now I'm having serious problems getting up on time, I've missed 3 classes in 4 weeks. I hate this week. On top of that, fantastic people are going along being fantastic and getting awards, going on exchange etc. How do people get their shit together man

4th week ahead

I am honestly not in the mood for tomorrow. Ugh 10-8 class. The 10am class last monday was such a bust, the lecturer just spent half the lecture talking about <i> himself </i>

"Oh that textbook publisher I met at a conference last year" "Yeah that famous inventor who was my student just wished me CNY over the phone' "Oh that nobel laureate I met for lunch last week" WE GET IT. You da bosss >_>

Happy-go-bitter sort of week

Having tumblr on your phone is definite drawback, especially during school term. I mean I've successfully evaded it for the past 3 semesters, all I need to do is forget about everything else and concentrate on classes~~**~~

I was legitimately nearly deluded into thinking this sem was gonna be great. Ok it wasn't that bad. Kn Saturday I woke up at 7.30 to head to NUS to make matcha ice cream. And pancake souffle. And mochi. Really fun and hell that matcha ice cream was FAAAABulous. It tasted fantastic, considering we made it up from scratch! Pancake souffle had burnt asses for the first two but we managed to turn down the heat and not kill the next two hehe. Food Sci and Tech - ILY

On the other hand I nearly lost it writing an essay for Bioinformatics. I mean I've spent the entire week trying to get myself to write and only muttered up the will at 9.45pm when the essay was due at 2359. Ughh fuck you deadline. I have no idea what this module is doing or what will become of my essay, given that its freaking 20PERCENT k thx.

Anyways, 1000-2000 tomorrow so I'm completely beat. Hopefully it's not as bad tomorrow.

Entering with (less than) a bang

So it's already been a week and I've already missed two lectures. In my defense, I was sick last week and basically my first order of business of the semester was to head to the university clinic and more or less sit there for an hour to get my meds. Sigh.

The lecture was a lame 95min intro, or so I heard. Thank goodness lame intros are always webcast~~

I had to stop with my coolio tutee as well coz she lives so faar (an hour's travelling is no joke) :( At the age of 11 she was cool and I guess I'll miss her sigh...

My modules have been less than satisfactory so far. I mean the lvl3 cardio is totally rad but my other modules not so. I've no idea what my professor is planning with Cell Bio, I mean he randomly started with Parkinson's disease and has been talking about neurotransmitters and tissue homogenisers for a while. I'm honestly confused. The stats prof has gone full laidback - chillaxing and cornily joking. He will never get our serious attention, ever, again. The Bioinformatics module is full-on computer class. Now I'm pretty damn sure I was supposed to be searching through some medical databases but I spent an hour trawling through Neanderthal taxonomy and Woolly Mammoth protein sequences so I've got that going for me. Basically I've no bloody idea what's happening for most of it.

I think I've got an essay to write. Or not. I'm not too sure.

Here we go again!

Ah shites, here we are back to square one. Classes and scheduling and so on.

My cousin was here for 3 weeks in the Dec hols so I made merry, naturally, and worked myself out to the point where I'm now hacking away deathly coughing fits and occasional sneezing bursts. Mind you it's FUCKING HOT in here, but that's what does me in, the inumerable heat. Anyways, so I was lazily catching up with my module bidding. Which of course didnt quite work out as I wanted.

I've been assigned 2103 (Cell Bio - hate that shit) and some stats module (whyy). Along with that I had to take a bio elective on Bioinformatics (and I'm NOT looking forward to computer stuff at all). Seeing as Bahasa lvl 1 gave me my only A last sem, I wanted to take Bahasa 2 but was bloody outbid.AND LET ME RANT WHY. So nus has this weird allocation system for module bidding where we use 2 different accounts depending on whether the module comes from our own faculty or not. Languages are all placed in the Arts faculty - which makes not much sense because you don't have to be an arts student to be good at a subject DUH. But ok, fair enough. And then they give arts students 33 spots and non arts students 20. LIKE WHUT -- ratio much?? So of course arts students happily get it at 1 point because ONLY 23 SIGNED UP while non arts kids had a huge bidding war with 28 ppl and of course I get outbid WHILE BEING HIGHEST LOSER T_T

Anyways, imma go in for another round tomorrow with the 10 spots leftover from arts students, all in. Stupid nus rules that make no bloody sense.

Not rly looking forward to stats lecture with all my hacking and sneezing. Maybe I'll run off for an MC or something.
