Mid-week recess week
It’s just about half of recess week and while I have done my readings when I can, I can definitely be doing more heh. My projects seem to have come to a standstill this week and that’s slightly worrying but OK with me since it’s groupwork and I trust the others will get their feet moving closer to the deadline. What I should focus on now are my individual assignments because I can control those.
I’ve been watching films this week! I watched Kubo and the Two Strings and Blair Witch in cinemas. Kubo is AMAZING, an animated film set in Japan and it deals with themes like family through a bildungsroman structure where a boy goes on an epic fantasy quest. The humor really stood out for me, and this film can make you both laugh and cry ;_; Just the amount of work put into it ahhhh GO WATCH IT!
I also watched Blair Witch last night. If you’ve heard of the blair witch project, this is the ‘official’ sequel. There’s another sequel that did really horribly and no one wants to talk about it hurhur. It’s my first time watching a complete ‘found footage’ film and there are some ways it’s more unnerving than a normal horror film. For one, there’s no music to prep you for scares. The scary things just happen and you’re reacting at the same time the character is. Also chase scenes get more scary because the camera goes nuts as the person is running and they sometimes look behind and then in front again. The house was really creepy as well.
In other news, I’ve gone out 2 days out of the 5 so far, and this weekend I’m going out with more friends!! c: But this also means I need to fully use today and tomorrow! So that I won’t be stressed out!
Also went to Supernature for the first time, it’s a grocery store which stocks vegan products like vegan mayo, cheese and meat. :D> I bought mayoRICE, which is mayonnaise made from rice. WOAH MAN human creativity it really looks and tastes like mayo except I like my mayo more tangy :)
AND IN OTHER OTHER NEWS: I made my best ever batch of garlic fries yesterday. I added herbs like rosemary and oregano, and used baby potatoes instead of russet. :) So good that I want to make more today hahahaha but is it possible to eat too much potatoes?
