Nutcracker Fantasy (1979)
"I love that one stop motion movie about the victorian girl with curls traveling through a fantasy world with the help and company of her sorta-boyfriend who ends up transformed into an object because of love."
"You mean 'I am Frankelda' or 'Nutcracker Fantasy'?"
"Yes"
Nutcracker Fantasy (1979) dir. Takeo Nakamura
the first stop motion produced by Sanrio, utilizing the Japanese staff and studio that worked on the Rankin and Bass specials.
Nutcracker Fantasy (1979)
A Japanese-American stop motion animated film produced by Sanrio, very loosely based on Tchaikovsky's 1892 ballet The Nutcracker. The visual style reminds me of Suspiria!
Christopher Lee as the Street Singer in Nutcracker Fantasy (1979).
Of the four characters that Christopher Lee voiced, the Street Singer is my favourite! 🎶🎵
