Nutrition Sector and its actors successfully finished the Vitamin A supplementation and mass MUAC campaign round 2 this month. We reached all our targets and every household in the camps. Thanks to our nutrition workers and actors for their coordination, cordial and professional support to the NS Cox's bazar.

Before initiating Vitamin-A and supplementation (VAS) Campaign Round 2 and Mass MUAC, orientation provided to our community volunteers so that they can ensure a quality service and successful campaign. They are all equipped with the necessary packages and COVID19 preventive items. Recently Nutrition Sector provided them camp visibility items such as vest, cap, t-shirt, bag and water bottle. Now people in the FDMN camps freely relay on them and get the service from authentic personnel. Now they are running the VAS Round 2 and mass MUAC campaign in the camps.

To determine the current malnutrition situation as well as mortality status among the refugee population, SENS data collection has started in Mega camp after receiving 6 days of residential training. The survey team is collecting information on Demography, Mortality, Anthropometric, Anemia, IYCF practices, Food Security, WASH, Mosquito net coverage from selected households with maintaining the highest IPC rules in this COVID 19 situation.

Special thanks to UNHCR for providing necessary technical support, and other actors (WFP, UNICEF & IP) actors for their continuous support at field level.

As a result of Accountability to Affected Population (AAP) Training, our Nutrition Sector's partners had arranged focus group discussions (FGD) on AAP. Our Nutrition workers are reflecting their earned knowledge from the training to make the programme more significant. In this discussion group, pregnant and lactating women, caregivers of under 5 children, grandmother, Majhi, and Imams participated and put their valuable opinion and share their understanding about Nutrition services.

Successfully completed 6 days of residential training on Standardized Expanded Nutrition Survey with field test, which has led by UNHCR & ACF and financial support from UNHCR and WFP. The training has been inaugurated by Civil surgeon Cox’s Bazar with remarks mainly from UNHCR, WFP, and ACF & Nutrition Sector. The data collection in Kutupalong Mega camp will start from 26th October to 6th November 2021 followed by Nayapara RC from 7th to 16th November 2021 and Kutupalong RC from 17th to 28th November 2021.
