Lord help me, what can I say about this game?
Here's me crying over the ending, bc what was at this game's core was making you care so much about the characters, even the ones you'd think are "generic" and "boring." (spoilers for the ending, obviously)
Origami King has a clear message that no matter how small and insignificant anyone seems to be, every single one of them matter, every single one has a part to play and a place in this world, and the game MAKES you care, not through their designs, but purely through their actions and character.
The game itself has so much thought put into its design sense, every decision made perfect sense and the devs poured in all their love and care and I felt it the entire time, even during the puzzles and fights I got frustrated with. I believed in their story that much.
This one's going to stick with me for a really long time. It's totally changed my brain chemistry and showed me everything a Mario game can be with enough care given to it, with so much to appreciate, laugh, and cry about.
Seriously I hadn't cried this hard since SMRPG Remake's ending LMAO
