Oh, it’s you.

The machine looks to the figure in the doorway, optics glowing in the dimly lit room. Hex is perched by an expanse of window, reinforced glass doubling as a massive wall. Hardly practical, but the view is why he often wandered to the higher floors of this fortress. 

To watch the lights dancing below, and the stars overhead. 

It seems their newest guest found his hiding place. Or perhaps she too simply desired a quiet space, somewhere to observe a world otherwise new to her. 

His claws are lit as he signs across the room to Cipher. |Too loud downstairs?| Wouldn’t surprise him between Indie, Encore, and Jack. Not to mention that boisterous woman that sometimes came looking for miss Blackwell. She’s something else entirely.

Zora seemed unphased by the line of questioning, instead flashing the other a smile. “Why I just let m’self in, what else?” its spoken as if she has a right to do this, and with the way she smiles and her relaxed posture it sure seems like she actually believes that,

“What is it?”

She had been reclined against a tree, nearly asleep, when she felt someone approach her. She didn’t even look up to see who it was, or if they were a threat. Almost as if she didn’t care even if they were.

“...I wasn’t looking for this.” And though her face betrayed little emotion, it wasn't as if staring up at the mechanical blonde towering over her didn't make her nervous. ----- Another human. The growl from him is a low, guttural rumble that makes his fangs bare in displeasure, casts his eyes in an ever-present shadow. Red optics train upon the girl, illuminating her face like beams, the ever-snowfall catching their glow.

She had some backbone not to just flee upon the sight of him, like any intelligent creature would. Hm. Perhaps it would take some reminding. His fingers crick at his sides, then clench.

“No,” the Maverick’s voice is low, dangerous, “I bet you weren’t.”

Oh. Shit.

“No, I was...not. I see I’m not welcome here.” Here is where she starts to back up, not once taking her eyes off of the taller blonde construct. Talos is snatched up in her right hand from the hook on her belt, but she doesn’t activate the saber it just yet. The air doesn’t bother her one bit, but it’s notably colder around her immediate area, frost starting to spread from her feet. “Surely we can resolve this with both of us intact?”

Although Cipher had a feeling he wasn’t the ‘talk things out’ type.

“I don’t...” A hard swallow. “...quite want to expire right about now. Still have things to do.”

Think, think--!

She inches away, like any animal trying to flee would. A creature that was in a territory that didn’t belong to her, for one. The object she pulls in her hand-- most definitely a saber, though one of construct he’d never seen before. Self defense, probably, but she’d be stupid to pick a fight with him.

His teeth grit as the girl babbles, fangs baring in a clear sign of displeasure. “Most don’t want to be eradicated. You are not unique.”

It is here that he pulls his hand from his pocket, the slim cylinder masking exactly how heavy the weapon truly was. MZ twists the object in hand, and as it spins the war-mallet reveals itself, clicking into place until it towers over the vamploid himself. 

“You can’t believe I’ll simply let you leave alive?”

“I promise, the weather’s not always this bad.” Issimo made a face at the sky as the rain continued to pour down just past the studio’s front overhang. It fell so heavy, you almost couldn’t see the storefront on the other side of the street. “It’s usually pretty sunny, actually.”

"you awake?" (we can just act like the stuff on discord already happened if you want XD) ------ “Regrettably, yes.”

“If you have coffee somewhere, I’d REALLY appreciate that.” Said the officer, rubbing her face just a bit to get the sleep off of her. “Long shift. I got all the stuff you wanted to your specifics. I suppose I just needed a small rest.” Which turned out to be a 5-hour nap in the tower Encore called home. This is fine.

Cipher yawns slightly, her hair parted in a way where one could see how differently colored her hues were. “Good to see you’re still in one piece, though.”

He’d just been wondering about her. Hex had seemed to take a liking to the officer, and that was a rather hard thing for his partner to come by. Something something, Hex needs more friends cause he never got to have any. 

So what a delight when just walking down the hall reveals Cipher sleeping on a couch-- one he couldn’t remember seeing in the middle of the walkway an hour ago. It only takes a second to confirm she isn’t actually dead, and he grins at her, folding his arms behind his head.

“Yeah, I can get you coffee easily. It’s the least I could do.” Considering, with context, that piece of furniture she was dozing on now belonged to him. 

“Hey! Being in one piece is something my stubborn ass is good at.” Most of the time.

“Obviously,” Percy replies with just a hint of offense, already taking pictures of the item with her phone from various angles. She’s a detective; why do you think she wears gloves? Not leaving fingerprints is the number one rule of examining evidence— even a child could tell you that much.

“But why do you suppose the criminal or criminals would leave something like this in such an obvious location? It certainly doesn’t seem like an accident.”
