The large body of gorillas needs abundant and adequate food to work properly. They are mostly herbivores, but instead of eating more fruits than herbs, like most monkeys and chimpanzees do, they consume more foliage and other plant parts. Gorillas eat leaves, stems, fruits, bark and buds, and occasionally small invertebrates like ants, worms, termites, and larvae. This is one of the cubs from the Black Rock Pride. We spent the afternoon with the females and their young ones as they were enjoying the last rays of sunshine on top of one of the rocks. I thought I saw the tip of little ears between the rocks, so I climbed on top of my seat, having half of my body above the roof, to the point that I was able to see the cub's face. We looked at each other for a few seconds before he went back to sleep between the rocks. This was another reminder that even if you are confined to a small car, you can still move inside the car (and of course, move with the car...) to get a different angle. In this case, had I not climbed on my seat, I wouldn't be able to see this cutie-pie. Hope you're having a great Caturday and that you are safe and healthy at home.
