Sin-e 150 Attorney Street New York, NY 10002
The New York music venue Sin-é had three locations before it closed permanently in 2007.
These locations were:
Original cafe/coffeehouse: Located on St. Mark's Place in the East Village from 1989 to 1996.
Williamsburg location: Reopened in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 2000.
Final location: Moved to the Lower East Side of Manhattan, at 150 Attorney Street, from 2001 to 2007.
The original Sin-é on St. Mark's Place is where artist Jeff Buckley got his start. His 1993 EP and later a live double album entitled "Live at Sin-é" were recorded there.
The final Sin-é venue and adjoining bar closed on April 2, 2007, reportedly due to gentrification in the area.
