Road Trip:Forbidden Planet NYC

New York City heads into Phase 4 of the COVID-19 re-opening plans for the city. With pretty much everything opening up,except movie theaters,Broadway and dine in restaurants. Most New Yorkers have returned to their old jobs,maybe with a reduction of time spent in the office or hours cut in retail/take-out and other hospitality positions.

Comic Book Stores probably were hit the hardest,with many of them already struggling to remain revelant in this digital age world.

Last week,I took a trip down to one of my favorite comic book stores in lower Manhattan.

FORBIDDEN PLANET

During the corona virus shut down,this nerds oasis,struggled to stay afloat once the city was shut-down on March 23,2020. Forbidden Planet had to create a GoFundMe requesting donations from their loyal customers to stay afloat,as well as ramping up their online and mailing products out. With no end in sight for the corona virus and if you’re feeling the comic con blues,lack of any real convention this is good alternative for that. Remember,San Diego Comic Con@Home kicks off this Thursday,so you can kick back in your pajamas and need not worry about long lines to get into Hall H.
