I just finished P1 and I haven't seen any theories minus "there is no rogue card" SO

CRACK THEORY TIME:

My initial crack theory was that there IS a rogue, and he swapped his card with someone else's after realising they were blank so that they wouldn't know to come forward about it. This was either to prevent double-crossing, or simply to be able to take control of the game without the Game Master noticing that the cards were different.

My second crack theory that sorta adds onto this is that there IS a rogue, but the rogue swapped his card with MC's. I bet he did this in order to ensure her safety no matter what happens, and if they succeed in filling the vase, the rogue, who now has the Goddess card, chooses MC, who has the Rogue card, and she gets to go free while the rest of them can fend for themselves inside.

Or otherwise, MC has a suitor card, and whoever is switching cards is going to play this switch-up to their advantage somehow.

No matter what, there is no reason for the Goddess card to go blank both for plot shenanigans and/or the fact that it probably isn't, it's just that one of the guys (probably the rogue) switched her card with another.

Is it bad that I headcanon Subaru as a yandere sometimes

I love seeing people be like "I would tell off all the ghouls!!" like the reason the plot is happening and the ghouls are somewhat being unified isn't because the protagonist is nice to them.

Like yeah, the writers make her a bit of a wet blanket and that's frustrating, but the characters like her because she's kind and tries to understand and work with them despite them being assholes. Like this is literally the most basic lesson ever glaring you all back in the face. That you have no idea what these guys have been through, and all they need to start putting them on a better path for their own mental well-being is for people to be kind to them.

And one person being is not going to fix them. Realistically, that isn't possible and is too much of a burden for any one person to take on what MC takes on. But little by little, you can see the characters start to take steps for themselves. Because a kind and trustworthy person cares about them.

I wish there was more of an option for MC to stand up to them sometimes. I do. But I also recognize that giving them all shit is exactly why they lost their respect for previous investigators and causes them to raise their walls and be even bigger assholes.

Love and kindness is not "fixing" any of these men either. They are still deeply flawed assholes no matter how much you warm up to them and the playerbase knows it. So there's nothing wrong with extending kindness and understanding to them. Should they extend that to MC too? Absolutely. And they do in unspoken ways the more we get to know them. And the playerbase is aware of that too. So truthfully, I don't know where this "I would mouth off to the ghouls" talk comes from when you know good and well why this plot is even happening and why the characters we're all interested in can act so soft around MC.

Being strong isn't all about being able to shoot insults and beat up everyone and drag everyone down. Sometimes being strong is being able to stand and walk and show kindness to others despite the terrible circumstances you're under. The entire cast likes MC because she is stronger than them.

Tbh, I really wish there was more evidence of the curse progression at this point. I want to see MC squirming like there's something crawling beneath her skin. I want to see Yuri prescribe her an inhaler to help with the vines growing through her lungs, and other various meds as needed while they continue looking for an outright cure. I want her to trim off flowers and vines from her body every few days. I want her to cough up flower petals like she's got freaking hanahaki syndrome. I want her to snap at the ghouls for fucking around while she's been trying to deal with all of this. I want this curse to feel like a threat, not just a warning.
