So we have a few of them 😌 (as in get ready for an essay)

1. Without lifting his head, Adam said, “I’d like to kiss you now, Blue, young or not”…

“I don’t want to hurt you” …

“I’m already all hurt up”

Blue didn’t think this was really about kissing her and that made her cheeks burn. It wasn’t supposed to be a kiss at all, but if it had, it definitely shouldn’t be like this.

Okay I was always so frustrated with Adam in this scene bc I was like boiiiii she don’t wanna kiss you like who cares whyyyy just leave it in the sense that people don’t owe you explanations for why they don’t wanna kiss u and I still kinda feel that way but he’s just so desperate for love at this point. He’s literally just yearning and reaching for a moment where he thinks he could be loved where he thinks this is what he’s supposed to do. Because blue is sensible and that’s maybe something suitable for Adam (a complete contrast to what Ronan is for him) it literally says “she wondered what it would’ve been like to kiss this hungry, desolate boy” BYEEEE IM CRYING

2. “Maybe I dreamt you”

“Thanks for the straight teeth then”

Okay so I was seeing this quote everywhere on tumblr back when these books first came out so I hadn’t read it yet but when I got to this part??? BITCHHHHH I SQUEALED like all this time in my head I thought they were alone when Ronan says that to Adam. But they’re all together and Ronan just says that in front of everyone and he’s being sarcastic but he’s also not and Adam just goes “thanks for the straight teeth then” HELLOOOOO 😩✋✋

3. Adam wondered if anyone else noticed. Part of him wished they did and immediately felt bad, because it was vanity, really:

See adam parrish is wantable, worthy of a crush, not just by anyone, someone like Ronan, who could want Gansey or anyone else and chose Adam for his hungry eyes

HE KNOWS HES ATTRACTIVE AND HE KNOWS RONAN IS LOOKING AT HIM AND HE WANTS HIM TO LOOK AT HIM HELOOOO BUT HES ALSO SO INSECURE IN THE SAME SENTENCE and most of all insecure of gansey he’s literally like gansey is attractive and Ronan should have a crush on him like boiiiii r u sure u don’t have one on him too skdjdjdjjd (the answer is yes btw 😌)

4. Adam was beginning to realize he hadn’t known Ronan at all. Or rather, he had known a part of him and assumed it was all of him

This moment just soooo fucking relatable bc like how often do we think of someone as one thing and think that’s all there to them? So much so often. And Adam just realizing that Ronan is not just one thing, that he’s malleable and has different sides to him and it contrasts with his whole “Adam Parrish was unknowable” thing bc he assumes he’s not knowable. Not like this. He thinks people see him just one way or another, poor, independent, smart, or whatever and that they’ll never know all of him. And I just… 😭😭😭😭😭

Anyways thanks for coming to my Ted talk 😌 there’s a million more moments but those are like the top 3-4 ✨
