I found out that you use a process similar to "smudging" or smoke cleansing; but you call it something else instead. What is it?

I call it either smoke-cleansing or recaning (pronounced “reekening”). Recaning is an old Anglo-Saxon word for the process of cleansing a space with burning herbs for medicinal or spiritual purposes.
