Wet.
Something wet is touching your cheek, and now your forehead. The window sill above your bed better not be leaking again. That was the only downside to it raining for you. The damn sill always leaked. But you didn’t hear any rain. In fact you could hear the tweeting of birds and… shuffling and grass being rustled? But that didn’t make sense, because the only grass near you would be the grass outside your window?
All at once your heart started racing as you came to the conclusion that your window was open, because how else would you be able to hear the sound of someone walking on grass outside?! So you sat up, quickly scrubbing the sleep from your tired eyes and trying to look around frantically, but the sudden light made seeing nigh impossible.
Though all your sudden movement did was scare the family of pigs that’d been inspecting you, causing them all to squeal in fear and trot away a safe distance.
“......Wait, what the fuck-...” You asked yourself out loud as you stared at the farm animals in complete confusion.
Then you looked around at the scenery around you in mounting shock. Trees, tall ones with dark bark and high canopies and lush grass underneath you. You were very clearly not in your bed anymore, hell, you weren’t even in your home! All you could think of was, “Why the fuck am I out in the woods??”
You could feel yourself starting to panic but tried to remain calm, freaking out wouldn’t solve anything. But this train of thought was tossed right out the window after you tried to stand up and realized… something was wrong. Very wrong. So very, very wrong. You looked down at your legs and… they weren’t your legs.
They were legs, technically, but they were very much NOT your legs they were fucking horse(?!) legs! This sick realization caused you to stumble and fall back down, but that just led to more unwanted discoveries as you looked behind you to find an animal body. A horse or deer, you didn’t care to specify right now. Too lost in a sea of bubbling fright to care about the fucking minutiae.
Your heart was going way too fast, your breathing hurried to try and keep up as you stared down in disorientation at the decidedly not human parts that had replaced your very human bottom half. Your hands shook as you touched the shoulder of the horse(?) part, nausea coming up your throat when you registered that you could FEEL the touch on both sides. From your hand and also from the coat covered animal shoulder. Your breathing picked up even faster than before, going right from labored breathing into full on hyperventilation.
You couldn’t tear your eyes away from the horse deer whatever parts it was you were attached to, your vision seeming to shake as you slipped into a panic attack. Everything felt like it was going way too fast but also like it was crawling along at a snail’s pace. Things felt so wrong, you couldn’t think, what was happening?
Darkness closed in at the edges of your vision, which didn’t help calm you down. Somewhere in the back of your mind something told you to cup your hands in front of your mouth to keep you from hyperventilating. But it was too late, you were too far gone. Despite trying to calm yourself you were pulled under the blackness of oblivion. Your body slumped before you fell cheek first into the grass below you, out like a light in a wet cave.
Reader has made the advancement [Not So Sweet Dreams]
.
. .
. . .
. . . .
Your unintentional advancement went unnoticed or unheeded by the other players on the Origins server. The kids were all goofing around and arguing over something so they didn’t hear the chime to announce the new achievement gotten. Philza was busy trying not to die while caving, Sneeg was face first into a pile of sugar, while Wilbur was lost in a book he’d found the day before. None of them heard the chime.
Jack heard it and almost read it but a very rude hoglin trying to fight him distracted him enough to make him forget about it. Schlatt just didn’t care or understand who ‘Reader’ was and couldn’t be assed to ask anyone about it. And Niki was chasing some fish underwater so the sound of the chime was pretty muffled.
Charlie meanwhile was laying on top of a giant slime, chatting about this and that and generally not listening to his communicator, while Scott was watching Fundy and James argue over whether or not taking supplies out of someone else’s chest was stealing or simply ‘sharing’, and Techno was gnawing on a golden carrot in the Pub(e), minding his own business.
All in all it was pretty funny that they all happened to miss (or ignore) your ‘achievement’ at the same exact moment. This little misstep of theirs would mean they wouldn’t know about you on the server for a while yet…
