Hannah couldn’t think the day could get any better. Not only did she marry the love of her life, everyone seemed to be genuinely happy. Even her dad, which was something she never thought would happen. He hadn’t been the same since the war ended, and she’d been worried about him. But seeing him with his husband, she knew he’d be fine, and it’s what really mattered.
She’d been so focused, looking at her dads being happy, that she hadn’t noticed the person approaching. The smile hadn’t left her lips from the moment she woke up that morning, and it didn’t either when she turned to look at who it was; if anything, it grew even bigger. “Hey,” she said softly, even if she knew he wouldn’t be able to hear her. A few years back, she didn’t even think she’d one find the courage to even just ask for a date, but here they were now. Her smile softened as she laced her arms around his neck, moving in to press a soft kiss on his lips.
