Gideon knew something was wrong the second he woke. His line of work had put him in some interesting situations, especially oneâs where he was used to waking up to danger. He tried to piece the memories of last night back together when he realised â this wasnât work. Heâd been with Evan.Â
Panic instantly bubbled within his chest as he stirred, eyes flitting around the room until he noticed a figure walking towards him. One he was familiar with. A sigh of relief let his lips, as he blinked up at his husband, leaning into his touch slightly. âYouâre okay,â He whispered breathlessly, before sitting up with a wince. âSomethingâs definitely wrong,â He murmured, looking at the other with wide eyes. âWho the hell would take us?âÂ
Evan wouldnât go as far as to say he was completely helpless; heâd always been good at dueling and fighting, he just prefered not to do it. Regardless, he felt safer knowing his husband was there, heâd certainly be more prepared than he was, due to his job. And if anything really was to happen, then at least heâd die next to him.Â
As Gideon leaned into his hand, Evan ran his thumb softly over the otherâs cheek. âYeah, Iâm alright.â He reassured the other, a frown on his face as Gideon winced. âAre you?â He asked back, moving to sit next to the other. Evan couldnât help the small scoff that left his lips when his husband asked him who it could be. âAre you joking? I can make you a list, if you want, but that might take a little too much time, canât promise weâll still be alive by the time Iâm done.â
