to me the thing abt oliver in dom/sub is that he’s like the epitome of a dom in my eyes but also subbing more would fix him in ways nothing else could. which he is somewhat aware of, mostly subconsciously.

he puts on being a dom in bed almost like a mask. he does enjoy it. a lot. a lot of it is very real. but there’s also always a part that’s a mask, a part he hides behind so he doesn’t have to be vulnerable or share more intimate parts of himself.

there’s only really two ways for oliver to sub for someone: either he’s been in a romantic relationship with them for a while, and he fully trusts them. in this case, they don’t need to be an experienced dom. both they and he can be vulnerable in front of each other, can fuck up, can do things badly, and they’ll still love each other.

or, oliver fully trusts in someone’s ability to dom. he needs to be friends with them, i think, know them on some personal level, but he doesn’t need to fully trust them as a person. if it’s a pure fwb thing, they need to be an experienced dom. preferably someone who only ever doms. someone oliver can’t doubt in that regard because he doubts them in too many others.

i think oliver has a hard time (fully) trusting people—he doesn’t even trust himself—especially with something as vulnerable as subbing for them; being his real, authentic self, no mask, no hiding, just him, raw and naked.

again, this doesn’t mean that dom oliver isn’t the real him. dom oliver can be fully authentic and real, too, but he’s also built his persona off of it, which is why he feels more secure in it. it feels less vulnerable to oliver because he’s in control. and he has a very hard time feeling safe enough to give up that control even though he yearns for it.

Shouei, Aiku, and Elys are getting married.

A small, non-traditional ceremony for us and our closest friends—family and looser friends will get to celebrate at another date. This one is meant to be less hassle, less perfect image, more of us being us without judgement.

My dearest Shouei and Aiku, I am so happy to share this day with you both.

I didn’t always picture myself getting married. For a long time, I didn’t picture myself turning eighteen at all, didn’t picture myself moving out, didn’t picture myself growing old. To be honest, there are still days that are hard. There are still days that I struggle. But I am so glad to be standing here, in front of you both, vowing to stay forever; forever, and then some. You two continue to show me why staying was the best decision I have ever made—even better than getting married, because without staying, there couldn’t have been any marrying in the first place.

Shouei, we met fifteen years ago today, on our very first day of Elementary School. You told me once how I grabbed your attention that day because I sorted all of my things carefully, just the way you do, and that it made you feel seen. Understood in a way no one else had understood you before me. I vow to make you feel seen every day, just the way I did back then, and you’ve told me I have in all of the years we’ve spent together so far. I vow to always pay attention to you, and to the details, and to try and understand you without words.

Aiku, we met three and a half years, eye to eye on the pitch deciding our soccer careers. You were great. You absolutely stole my breath, even though you didn’t make me run after you; you just there, in front of me, making sure I couldn’t get myself or the ball past you. We danced around each other for what felt like an eternity until Shouei stole the ball from me, and I was stuck there, less than a step away from you. If you think about it, it reflects how we came about: We danced around each other for a while, always eye to eye, never quite bold enough to say the words until Shouei couldn’t take it anymore, urged me to confess, and pushed me right into your arms.

Thank you, love, for that. I’m not sure we would all be here today without you.

Well. Aiku, we have always danced like it was the very last day before the heat death of the universe, like the only thing that still mattered was us. You, Shouei, dance with us now, and I couldn’t be happier—my two lovers love each other just as much as I love them, as much as they love me. Aiku, I vow to dance with you not just until I’m out of breath, but forever, hand in hand, and never letting go again.

If, and I hope this is not the case because I would rather bear losing you than know you two will have to suffer my death, but if death was to reach for my hand before yours, I would let it embrace me instead so I could hold both of your hands until the very end.

I love you, Aiku, and I love you, Shouei, and I want to love you both until we’re all old and gray, and then some more.
