Okaby is a Grass type. It is very timid, and only dwell within deep rainforests, hiding itself away from any danger. They like to gather in groups, to share energy with each other in order to grow stronger. Oakapi is Grass/Psychic. It's power is unleashed once it has evolved from Okaby and now has the strength and courage to venture out into the open. It uses it's ossicones and large flower-like ears to communicate with each other, sending out signals of up to a 10km radius.
Baby Okapi calf Daphne has started venturing out and exploring her home for the first time and is already giving her mum Elila the run around.
OKAPI Okapia johnstoni AKA Forest Giraffe As a kid I was fascinated with Okapi that showed up in one of my animal books. Stripes of a zebra, body of a deer, head of a giraffe, the oakapi is an odd-looking animal. Vert shy and living in deep forest, not much is known about them in the wild. I discovered recently that I have pronounced it’s name wrong all along — Oh-cop-eeee is the correct pronunciation, (I thought it was Oak-a-pee). Although is has stripes like a zebra, it is more closely related to the giraffe. Oakapi get large, 440 – 770 lbs and they grow to a height of 4.9 – 5.6 ft. (At the shoulders)
This is Daphne, born at the London Zoo. She’s fully grown now as the video is from 2014 :)
