The Oakshore Electronic MicroDot is considered by some to be the grandfather of the modern tactical LVPO, frequently seen in the hands of Delta Force from the late 90's well into early GWOT alongside more then-modern offerings by Leupold and Schmidt & Bender.
While not a product coming from a more household name, the MicroDot's Japanese-made glass and simple, robust configuration definitely proved its worth for the period it was popular with the unit.
