Oasis Python

A large constrictor snake based on a tree python. They hunt using their forked tongues to scent and the pits on their nose and jaws to detect the heat of prey. They bask on sand dunes in the morning before returning to their home oasis during the heat of the day. They enjoy life in the trees of oases, hunting small game until they are large enough to hunt juvenile dragons and even sometimes invading jackal dens if the opportunity presents itself.

Spiked cover above the eye to shade it from the bright sun, giving it the appearance of a serpent dragon.

The Dune Dragon's biggest competitor, they are natural enemies.

Both the Oasis Python and Dune Dragon are referred to as "dragon" by other animals. It doesn't matter which predator it is, they are both huge, cold blooded and dangerous.

Colors vary from light sage blue-green to bright green to sandy yellows.

Albino and Melanistic variants.

A series of convex trapezoid and pentagon shapes.

Perfectly round eyes, no eyelids.

Patterns vary extremely. Use whatever markings look interesting or are easy to animate.

Neck tenses into an 'S' shape before it strikes.

Long thin fangs that fold out as the mouth opens. The circular windpipe is an important detail.
