Sandy’s overblot design and the inspo sheet. She has a turn-around and an expression sheet but I haven’t cleaned them up.

Her phantom hasn’t been drawn yet, but think of it as a tall, slender skeleton, a mix of Jack Skellington and Slenderman with a perfume bottle looking head.

Sandy’s designated book is b1.5: the Queen of Lamentations, that takes place between Book 1 and Book 2. Her reasoning for overblotting is the realization that the ‘happiness’ she seeks for both herself and to spread for others is ‘false’—that life is suffering.

Her wish is to make others happy, as she believes other people can feel real happiness, while hers is nothing but a shadow of what it once was. She feeds off the happiness of others, so she can be happy for them, it’s both a selfish and selfless mindset.

When that fake illusion of making others happy is broken, Sandy snaps and realizes if she can’t make everyone happy, she can take away their suffering, and so in her overblot state, she seeks to kill everyone, to preserve them in a state of not being hurt further—to take away their suffering.

A little more info: Sandy has been trying to revive Skully by finding anything that once belonged to him, because she wants her brother back, and for her family to be as they used to be.

A loving family.

When Skully goes MIA, her family has no choice but to declare him deceased. Sandy loses both Skully as well as her family’s once warm affection—their house turning into an ongoing funeral and a place of cold, loneliness and continuous grief.

It is because of Idia revealing that the real Ortho died, and he built the robot Ortho, but this did not truly bring his brother back. This is an attempt to prevent Sandy from falling down the same path as him, does Sandy realize the happiness she sought isn’t real. She has ignored Idia’s deeper pain, by turning a blind eye to the fact Ortho is a robot, even when she suspected something was wrong.
