On view through October 24, the exhibition is a wonderful opportunity for students to view the iconic portraits of President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama. The Obama portraits make their Brooklyn debut on August 27! From the moment they were unveiled, Kehinde Wiley’s portrait of President Barack Obama and Amy Sherald’s portrait of former First Lady Michelle Obama have inspired an unprecedented response from the public. Experience these vibrant and groundbreaking depictions of American leadership, on view August 27–October 24. Tickets are required, and are pay-what-you-wish.

And, stop by our plaza on Saturday, August 28 from 4–8 pm to celebrate the exhibition's opening! Enjoy music by Burnt Sugar the Arkestra Chamber, poetry readings presented by Cave Canem, art-making with Cool Culture, and a Brooklyn Pop-Up Market spotlighting local Black vendors.

On Thursday, October 14, get a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the Obama portraits in a rare conversation between official presidential portrait artists Amy Sherald and Kehinde Wiley, moderated by Doreen St. Felix. The two artists reflect on the impact of their powerful portraits and discuss their unique approaches to representing the first Black President and First Lady.

Andy Warhol: Revelation Opening November 19 Experience Andy Warhol: Revelation, the first exhibition to examine the Pop artist's complex Catholic faith in relation to his century-defining artistic practice.
