my part of an art trade with @squibits, this is the childe Obehi.
usually when Mint sees people he knows from Octo Valley he’s polite enough to greet them. Which wouldn’t be such a problem if he hadn’t been kidnapped and later presumed dead
That’s Obehi. She belongs to @squibits
i forgot her scars i’M SO SORRY-
Obehi-Everything
Obehi is something of a new name on the R&B scene, originally born in Nigeria but now residing in Glasgow, she's been busy making a name for herself across Scotland is now ready to unleash her music further afield with her debut EP, Everything.
Obehi writes all her own material has taken influences from everyone from Marvin Gaye and Luther Vandross to India Arie and Beyonce among others, whilst trying to convey her own feelings in an open and honest manner. So far so good I hear you cry, well not quite, in truth this is R&B by numbers, there's nothing massively original or inspiring here.
Take the opening title track for example, Obehi coos gently about how she'd do anything and everything for her man, it's all very sweet but a little too lyrically obvious and then there's the production, which again is predictable and a little flat.
For You follows and sees the beat count increase, aiming squarely for the dancefloor, but once again missing the target, there's no real energy and the vocal effects are horrible, masking the only appealing factor of the song.
Obehi has a real nice vulnerable voice, but she needs a better outlet. Stronger songs and better production will help her cause, I hope she manages to bounce back with a tearjerking ballad or strong floor filler, but for now Obehi is just another average R&B act in a faceless league of wannabes.

SCOTTISH BASED STARLET OBEHI PREMIERES OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE “HEARTBREAKER”
R&B songstress Obehi unveils the official music video for her new single “Heartbreaker” on online video channels. The alluring visual representation of “Heartbreaker” is now hitting video screens worldwide via the launch of its official music video on youtube, and other online video channels.
Behind the curtains of the music video of “Hearbreaker” is Scottish music video director Neil Stewart and features the Nigerian born, Scottish based starlet cooing a tale of an ill-fated love whilst surrounded by an elegantly classic white-out background.
Truly original and inspirational singer/songwriters don’t come around too often in today’s current musical climate, which is why Obehi, the UK’s brightest R&B star-in-the-making is a unique talent. After moving to Scotland from Nigeria as a child Obehi forged her cultural identity through exploring her love of soul and pop music. Prior to pursuing her music career, Obehi studied electronic and electrical engineering and lived a double life whilst following her musical path.
Obehi’s latest single, “Heartbreaker”, set to be released December 2011, is produced by Graeme Young and Jamie Turnbull (Chamber Studios-Edinburgh). Obehi will be performing selected dates which are to be announced in Scotland to celebrate the new release.
“Heartbreaker” is now available for digital download via iTunes and other online music portals.
