Why I haven’t blogged in over a year.
Yes, yes i know. I haven’t blogged in over a year *cringe* But there’s a few reasons.
1. I started university and that got in the way. I know that sounds unbelievable since i am study culinary arts. So why wouldn’t I blog? lol. It just had to do with settling in, my first couple of months were just a bit of a haze. Between trying to manage ‘adult-ing’, you know - money, laundry, cleaning, just the whole living alone thing. On top of that class was just moving so fast. So i barely had time. Then with the time i did have, i was trying to have a social life. At some point i may have even forgotten that i had a blog. I didn’t really have a plan when I left for University because i literally got my visa and the next day I was on a plane. IT WAS HECTIC. New country, new home, a lot to handle. Anyway i’m trying to do better this year. Organised my time better so that i can blog more :)
2. Budget. :( So obviously being in university, my parents have me on a student budget. This was problematic for me, because i couldn't afford to cook the same way i did at home. Like i’m hear trying to substitute a lot of stuff and it just wasn’t working. Again i didn’t really have a plan and a lot of time i wouldn’t handle my money properly. This made me lose so much inspiration. But i’m going to try and turn that around and have some student budget friendly meals - which i’m excited about and i can’t wait to share with you guys.
3. This one is more personal. So i went through a change in my life that was very difficult and it left me feeling rather hopeless. Uhm yeah, like it just made me feel like giving up. I even shut down my blog, like i was done. I wasn’t seeing the point, in anything. Towards the end of the year, i really just pushed to get through my exams and pass them, but i didn’t have a lot of motivation. Inspiration was out the window. Sometimes i’d have good days and i’d cook and stuff, but i was so out of the motivation to blog about food or share recipes. So i didn’t.
But I’ve been working on changing my attitude towards these things. I guess it took a year. But hey. i did it. And with help from my lecturer and friends, i realized, that in life there will be so many things that demotivate us, but we have to keep pushing and fighting.
Passion and inspiration are like flames and we need to feed the fire to keep it burning.
Thats what i plan on doing this year :)
