Day One: What is your most favorite platonic pairing and why?
I've been thinking about this for a long time, mainly being split between ObiTorou and ZenMitsuKiki but ultimately decided for Obi and Torou cause I don't actually go a day without not thinking about them.
Their main appeal to me is actually the uncertainty and what we don't know about them and their past/relationship rather then what we are shown in 2 chapters :') getting a glimpse into their present dynamic obviously tells use they weren't always like this. I mean, yeah Torou always used to leave the "hard work" to Obi as he mentions once but Torou literally tells us HEY OBI!! THIS IS NOT LIKE YOU!! so their past dynamic was obviously somewhat different before and it makes me !!! scream !!!
also totally obsessed with Torou just going "welp it's about time you drop these swordmen and hurry back to US"– you can say that they maybe weren't as close but they (or at least Torou) cared!! she cared enough to invite him back after 3 years!! she cared enough to offer him help when he was injured!! and Obi cared enough to entertain Torou's requests !!! They were definitely more than just colleagues and I'll die on that hill.
Lastly, something I really like about them is Torou being the one always "casually" reaching out – and Obi (in most cases) reluctantly accepting. I don't know.... it's something about the contrast of Obi's personality then and now. It makes me insane.
(that's the main reason I really wanna see Torou again cause imagine their dynamic now!!!! OBITOROU SAVE ME)
