On Beauty

Since apparently we are in need of unbiased reporting here:

Standing in a room with all the coven assembled is like a Who’s Who of Human Beauty. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and my eyes beheld a hell of a lot of it with all of them.

There isn’t ever going to be an objective ranking, because beauty isn’t something that can be ranked objectively, especially when you are comparing people who are all remarkable in their own right.

Mass Media Objectivity Defunct

I have finally begun the withdrawal from the mass media addiction.  I am now listening to Public Radio and Television and on-line news sources.  I need my news about what is happening around the world.  Trying to find a source that is balanced and comprehensive and objective is difficult.

CBS, ABC, and NBC at one time did a fairly good job of being comprehensive and objective.  Fox news has always been a joke.  In todays world it is clear that the sponsors run the show.  The establishment is the one who calls the shots and objectivity be damned.  If it is not blood and gore or some well-known asshole then it is not newsworthy.  A sad case for us older people who remember the likes of Cronkite and David and Chet and others.

I shall now search out the news from around the world.  If anyone has a source of balanced objective comprehensive news please tell me.

CBS News Supports Clinton

To Charlie Rose, Nora O’Donnell, and Gayle King - how much is the Democratic Party Establishment paying you to promote the candidacy of Hillary Clinton?  It is so very clear by the adjectives, adverbs, and verbs that you are firmly in the Clinton corner and have lost any sense of balance in your reporting.  It is disgusting that a major media morning show be so blatantly partisan.  Have you no decency?  

On Wednesday morning (16/05/04) every statement made in reference to the candidates refers to the election to Clinton and Trump.  You dismissed Sanders and dismissed his win in Indiana as a minor bump in the road to the nomination.  All residents in Indiana appreciate your sense of their importance in the selection of a candidate.  CBS is a major news media corporation and has clearly thrown in the towel for objective reporting.  I expected more from the three of you.  You seem to care about giving objectivity in your reporting but you are falling far short of what is expected of any reporter (save Fox News).

Every guest on your show pandered to the establishment candidates.  Even the man who followed the money to capture Nixon and his cronies would not mention Sanders in his assessment of the people running for the democratic nomination.  Slanted reporting does not help the discussion we americans so badly need.  Omitting data is just as bad as blatant mis-reporting.  When was the last time you guested a Sanders supported?  That is the reason for the beginning question.

If I am lacking in information I expect a clear objective analysis of the situation not some subjective report.  Please refer to the manual on being a great newscaster and return to objective reporting.  You have lost your way and are not helping the american people in their decision making process.  Shame on you and your news organization.  Shame on CBS for pandering to the establishment and not doing its job.  You are capitalism-ing the news.
