#why does germany especially keep coming up lately my insight as someone who went to school in germany is this: germans want to be extremely careful not to seem antisemitic because of their history, so they think they can't ever criticize anything "jewish", and they need to come in defense for the jewish people when they are attacked, or else they get called a nazi. they also aren't taught the difference between antisemitism and antizionism. seriously, i don't think most german people have even heard about zionism before. so they think anyone who criticizes israel is antisemitic and a nazi sympathizer. and that is, obviously, by design. i don't even have good sources on zionism in german to show people who aren't great at english, nor does the german media EVER make that distinction. if you think propaganda in western media is bad, german media is twenty times worse currently. germany has also had extremely close ties to the USA since the 50s, and has a huuuge islamophobia problem, so there's that too. i want to believe the average german person is well-intentioned but extremely misinformed and misguided, so it circles all the away around to antisemitism and genocide apologism without them realizing. but it's not an excuse for what the german politicians and journalists, who are obligated to be informed, are doing.

Oh jeez yeah that makes sense. Talk about a drastic over-correction though.

It's especially incomprehensible after I saw you mention they've banned like actual Jewish people from criticising isr*el. Like arguably the most involved group of people regarding the issue 😑 it makes it so obvious that it's not about bringing the truth to light but about keeping up specific appearances

hey kasey! i saw your tag about the stray game, and just in case no one else has told you - yes, the cat gets in dangerous and stressful situations. there are enemies and you (as the cat) can get injured and die. it’s not anything too graphic but the action scenes can get very stressful. definitely look into the content warnings before checking the game out if you’re still curious! take care 💕
