Fandoms are a funny thing.I mean, why are the so hypocrital?Depending on how character are portrayed,it’s easy to forget they committed unforgivable crimes,or sometimes they never let fans of those characters forget.People say characters like Akechi and Sasuke doesn’t deserve redemption and were easily forgiven. And yet are big fans of Vegeta, who you know, killed thousands of innocents.Look up the videos “Vegeta destroy planet Arlia” and “Vegeta arrives on Earth”. How is he a hero after all that?
Well, that’s the thing... “how they’re portratyed”. We get to see Vegeta’s redemption arc in real time, as well as the things he comes to do after he realises his errors, so it becomes easier to root for him as a character. “It’s not what you did, it’s what you’re doing... etc”
Sasuke’s handling was.... dubious, and he never really got redeemed, so there’s going to be conflict there. Akechi had shit handling and wasn’t allowed redemption, so I’m not surprised there’s conflict and resentment.
Akechi annoyed me a bit and I still think his strongest showing was his final scene, so for anyone that wasn’t inclined to buy into his arc it’d be pretty easy to disregard it.
But yeah, at the end of the day it’s subjective. I think everyone’s allowed their opinions, buuuut they don’t have the right to attack people with different opinions.
