@obsessionisthenewblack "dubtitles,” as you’re describing, are definitely a lot more common for these sorts of things as opposed to actual subtitles bc they’re cheaper and quicker to do than having to go back and pay ppl to accurately transcribe the japanese dialogue, unfortunately.

if you’re interested in seeing what the differences are, the japanese game has been subtitled by fan(s) here! (the opening and ending FMVs not withstanding, due to copyright.) there are definitely significant differences between the japanese game and the localization.
