spring day.
* &. for @obsxchaow
ten thinks, there are some things in thailand he misses. no, he knows there are some things in thailand he misses. it’s simple, really, how little things can find their way into the crevices of his heart and leave with a nonchalant air, leaving him longing for the smallest things that others would find merely petty. the scent of the street market food in cities, the overbearing heat that was unpleasant but now he missed, the childish times of running barefeet on sand with people beside him to keep him company.
most of the time he finds comfort in the accessory that rests pretty much permanently on his wrist, intertwined and held together as a bracelet that holds so, so much more than just mere seashells. he wonders a lot about life back then, when there wasn’t the overlooming threat of worrying too much hanging over his head like a cloud. when he was free to do what he wanted, instead of being confined by the walls of society and humans.
he thinks of the times with chaow.
the thoughts are pushed out of his mind in bear that they’ll trigger something more, something nostalgic that he had locked inside of him in fear that he really would snap and so his actions are minimal when they make their way toward the pretty river he’s grown accustomed to.
it makes him think of back home, on spring days when he would visit the rivers with bridges hanging over them, shoes clutched in one hand. in his other hand, he’d be grasping the hand of a younger boy, someone calledㅡ..
no, he reminds himself sharply. it’s been around ten years i can’t think about it again. maybe, ten’s scared if he thinks, he won’t be able to forget. but something’s different, he notices. when he steps on the bridge, light footsteps faltering when he sees the back of someone crouching in the bridge. he can only make out their back, even as he takes a closer step forward, gaze fixed on the stranger in curiosity.
for some reason, he's reminded of bangkok.
