For Obvis: "What's their morality like?"

Lawful Good. For DnD alignment.

As opposed to Namri’s Lawful Neutral. She really wants to do things that are good, but really... it’s protecting the small circle of people she cares about. She’s theoretically opposed to stuff, but in reality she’s not terribly concerned with whether what she is doing is “right” or “wrong” because it’s protecting the people she cares about. And she does that by doing things that are questionable in service of the king because the world is messy and “if I kill my enemy, I’m good, but if my enemy kills me they’re bad, good and bad is simply whose side you’re on.” She very much takes a “the shadows will judge me, I may be damned but my children won’t be,” stance.

Obivs is not his sister. He very much believes that the law can be good and he can follow duty and his heart. Fortunately for him, it’s his one mercy that he hasn’t been asked to pick between the two. (Namri and his dad played no small part in that.) He values duty and honor and loyalty and despite being a grumpy butt who glares at everyone truly believes the world to be a good and just place.

(Going with… Obvis for this since he’s the main character of the doc thing I opened up to work on.)

😄: (happy smile face)  He is the opposite of this emoji to basically everyone. He’s grumpy pants. Except when around his kids. Then he’s like happy mcGee. This causes significant confusion for Obviri when she learns everyone signs Obvis’ name with a grumpy face and she has basically never seen him do anything but smile around her.

😗: (kissy face)  This would be I guess. He’s not big on displaying his affection. He’s low key about it even in private. But everyone else around him is big on it. So he often comes off as the grumpy cat. 

😍 (heart eyes): When he loves something or someone, he does it with his whole being. His love is something he drowns in, and is happiest when he surrenders to the happiness and feels it without restraint.

Tanno: characters. And are the spirits not agents of fate?

Obvis: fuck you.

Tanno: so you concede?

Obvis: i do no such thing.

Tanno: admit it, the world is a story and you are walking the path to your destiny!

Obvis: i am walking the path to my desk

Tanno: you cannot say the spirits carve your path and in the same breath deny their will!

(what is this? Idk. I just found it in my drafts. Tanno sees the world as a story. which complicates things in other people’s lives. he finds it very simple.)

Al Final Nada Era Como Parece

Lo que para todos era normal, para este diminuto ser era sorprendente, algo que fugaz pero silencioso, se acercaría pronto...

Unos años atrás, el estudio arrojaba los índices más grandes que aquella máquina podría detectar, matigita y un conjunto de aleaciones daban paso a sorprender a todos los participantes del simposio.

Ok so in h&h it's heavily implied that the spirits set udva and obvis up together in a "come on, I'm trying to answer your prayers. He's gay. He's into you. Make a move." sense and basically, udva was praying to Iyaan Parraich who was more than happy to play divine wingman.

Also that Iyaan and Nama were probably watching and going "your son is really oblivious" "i know. *sigh* he really needs to forgive himself for my death, it wasn't his fault. He deserves to be happy." *obvis and udva continue to not get it* "you know, it would be easier to answer their prayers IF THEY LISTENED!"

A selection of Star Verse Characters as their Hogwarts Houses

Oslen: He’s like the student sent to a boarding school in another country for the widening of horizons and chance to experience another culture. He gets to Hogwarts and the hat is very quick to go “well you’re a ravenclaw. next.” The blue and silver definitely fit his color scheme so he’s not complaining.

Iyaan: He’s the mid-year transfer student who is coming during like his fourth year because he got expelled at his previous school(s) for breaking rules. But they’re the rules like breaking into the restricted section to learn more things and doing unauthorized spells, experiments, and general magic use.

The sorting hat is immediately “Wow, you’ve got ambition, a thirst for more to fit any Slytherin.” and Iyaan is all “Look again, hat.” and the hat is all “woah, shit, this ambition is purely to learn more and more and just know shit for the sake of knowledge. Holy fuck how did this manage to trip my slytherin bells?” (And the answer is when it comes to pursuing knowledge Ravenclaws can be virtually indistinguishable from a slytherin.) and Iyaan is just all “I know your magics, hat.” because of course he found out how the hat works. And he ends up in ravenclaw because he seeks an understanding of magic for the sake of knowledge and not any other goal which would have placed him in Slytherin. (And that given the tendency for Slytherins to have goals other than just learning things, it’s probably safer not to stick the nerd with people who would likely make real trouble. The hat does afterall take into consideration what’s best.)

Obvis: Grumpy Mc Angst-face doesn’t even get up to the chair before the hat knows where he belongs. Loyal. Hard working. He is expected to go into Gryffindor, where the leaders, the bold and courageous go, where the heroes are from. He is prepared to tell the hat he just wants to make his father proud, to work hard and earn what is his. The hat already knows and places him in Hufflepuff, “You’re a bit of a grump and awfully rude, but that is where your heart is.”

Udva: He wants to go to Beauxbatons because the uniforms are great. But one of his many older brothers either goes there or works there and so his dad is like “nobody is at Hogwarts, you’re going to Hogwarts.” and Udva is like “but the colors don’t match my aesthetic TM” anyway, long story short, he tells the sorting hat to put him in Ravenclaw or so help him he will do everything he can to make people think they put him in the wrong house. (The hat humors him given that he’s concerned himself with gathering artistic knowledge and skill, and wants others to be able to see the world through a different lens to see the beauty and pain and everything that can be expressed through are and that, is the kind of mind that fits a Ravenclaw.)
