wanted to draw the appearance update for my sweet baby boy and accidentally made him look like an archvillain (it’s his own fault for committing to his aesthetic so hard but)
Doodle if my yttakin Gil who is a very normal pawn with absolutely nothing wrong with him and no secrets he hides not at all.
Been drawing a lot of yttakins lately
Muwc Gil doodles because he won't stop getting in situations and I love him
Gil doodle page. I just like him. I like when there's a freak.
Random Knitting Nothing Thingie
Had an idea, didn’t have wheels, but have some nonsense anyways :P
“So… what’s the sweater curse?”
Adiran looked up from his project as Kyle sat down, phone in hand. Oh boy. He never should have shown that boy LSG. He set his knitting down. Lace was too complicated for the conversation they were about to have.
“Why are you asking me instead of the forums?”
“Because I don’t know who on the forums is a faery and if anyone is going to know about actual curses I figure it would be one of you.”
Adiran raised an eyebrow. “Are you trying to curse a boyfriend via sweater? I promise not to warn Tybee...”
Kyle barked a laugh. “No way. If I ever knit someone a sweater, it’s gonna be me. Or maybe Lia.”
Adiran hummed a non-answer, trying to return to his knitting. But Kyle kept him pinned in his gaze. Adiran sighed.
“You already know all about the curse, with an answer like that. Why would you only knit a sweater for you, or maybe Lia?”
“Because only we would appreciate it.” Kyle answered promptly.
Adiran made a ‘there you go’ gesture. Kyle frowned. Adiran sighed and settled in. There was clearly something on Kyle’s mind. It was almost enough to make him dive in and go looking for it.
“The ‘curse’ is more correctly called ‘the boyfriend sweater curse’. It’s kind of like a one sided IKEA challenge. You put in all the time and effort, they don’t seem to care—it’s not a curse. It’s an eye opener.”
“Like knitted true sight,” Kyle said with a grin. Adiran nodded.
“More or less. Why the interest?”
“Oh, it’s nothing,” he said lightly. His wicked grin said otherwise. “Gil and I just overheard some ladies discussing it while we were yarn shopping. I know he’s going to come to one of us about it sooner or later so I figured we’d better be prepared.
-
Gil worried his lip as he thought, scouring the yarn tags for prices. He knew buying a knitter yarn was risky—better to just let them choose for themselves—but he’d been lured in while shopping, irresistibly drawn to the shine of the seacell. And maybe the call of the ocean still lingering in it. Probably not. Probably just the shiny.
He was thinking too hard. He knew it. He was getting himself all worked up, and his well-meaning gift was going to come wrapped in layers and layers of anxiety. He took a deep breath, then another.
There was no such thing as a sweater curse.
–
Adiran had given up on the shawl and had switched to a simple hat. Kyle was curled up reading, doing his usual “no, you’re not interrupting me” pose. Adiran had to wonder how anyone ever fell for it. The only one in the house who was more transparent was Rhia.
Like clockwork, Gil came out to start dinner. And to the surprise of no one, he pulled out a boatload of vegetables. Gil always liked to chop his stress out.
“Mmm, what’s for dinner, Gil?”
Kyle got up and came in to look over Gil’s shoulder. Gil popped a baby carrot into his waiting mouth.
“Pot pie casserole. I’ve got some veg to use up.”
“Mmmm. Nice long cook time. I think I’ll leave you and Adiran alone, then?”
He made meaningful eyes towards the couch. Gil sighed.
“I was going to leave it til bedtime.”
Kyle shook his head. “Get it over with, babe. You’re stewing.”
Gil sighed again and handed Kyle the knife. Kyle set it on the counter with his nose in the air.
“Uh-uh. If you leave dinner to me, it’s order in pizza.”
Adiran couldn’t listen to this anymore. He got up and joined the mess in the kitchen. He slid his arms around Gil, who melted into his touch instantly. Well, that was a good sign at least.
“Kyle, stop helping. Gil, finish your prep, love. We can talk about what’s bothering you while dinner bakes.”
“It’s just yarn. I bought you yarn.”
