break: What would cause your OC to break down completely? What do they look like when that happens? Has anyone ever seen them at their lowest? That actually has happened for Lum. I haven't put it into any fics or anything yet, but let me explain. Warning for eating disorders. So as Lum is a singer and an idol, he has a lot of stress and a lot of expectations upon him. One day it all became too much for him and he started to cope with this via stress eating, mostly sweets as their taste calms him down. Of course that meant that he gained weight and that weight wasn't something that was seen as good for him to have, he would often have to do modelling or star in advertisements or pose for posters etc. So he developed bulimia as he was not able to keep up with the increased stress without stress eating. It took @justbabyme's OC Amala (who he actively hates) to call him out on his behaviour and let him realize that he needs help so he confessed his eating disorder to his family and went into a clinic to get therapy. future: What's the worst possible future for your OC? Are they taking steps to avoid that outcome? Are they even aware it's a possibility? So, we actually (Justbabyme and me) made this AU in which all our OCs had their worst possible future. In Kuro's case, he would have been forced to go to conversion therapy by his parents. He still would - of course - be gay but having badly internalized homophobia and probably marry someone that he doesn't love and treats like shit as he is too busy with his own misery. fear: What is your OC's greatest fear? What do they do when confronted with it? Are they open with their fear, or do they hide it away? Tempest is surprisingly sturdy, with him being able to stave off hollowing after he almost succumbed. So his greatest fear turned out to live in a world without Ornstein, as it was Ornstein who grounded him and gave him purpose to stay sane and not hollow. And that is HUGE spoilers for Storm, so don't read if you haven't read the fic yet. All clear? Okay! So Tempest slowly figured out that there were only two ends to their story. First: He burns. Second: He walks away and Ornstein will die as his life force is linked to the flame. And Tempest decided that he would rather burn than to lose Ornstein. What he didn't know is that Ornstein would decide to burn with him, not wanting to live in a world without Tempest as well. failure: What's your OC's greatest failure? Have they been able to move past it? Does anyone else know about it? Rispale has the feeling that during his path of a Warrior of Light, there have been many failures. The one that weighs him down the most however, is Haurchefant's death. If only he had noticed that Zephirin threw this spear. If only he hadn't been so distracted by Thordan attempting to flee. If only that spear would have hit him, he would have had at least a chance to survive it with his echo. After it happened, he actually actively developed some self-hatred for his failure, blaming himself for Haurchefant's death instead of his obvious murdered. Who knows about it? Alphinaud as he was there and he went to talk to Rispale after it happened and had to calm him down from his bout of self-hatred and how much Haurchefant wouldn't have wanted Rispale to blame himself for his death. I think Rispale mostly moved on from it now, but the grief sometimes comes back with a vengeance. As he actually loved Haurchefant in a romantic way, but only noticed it once it was too late. alone: How does your OC deal with loneliness? Have they ever been completely alone before? How do they act when there's no one around to see them?

Badly. Laurence is a very social person and so him being on his own makes him cope with stuff like... drinking too much. Taking a lot of sleeping pills so he doesn't have to stay awake. But mostly drinking. Absolutely the drinking. And he can have a lot before he passes out, so it can get dangerous. Especially if he combines drinking with medicine abuse. Laurence has not been completely alone, as his boyfriend, Ludwig, always was on his side, but he managed to get all his friends away from him by being a huge asshole and he regrets it and he tries to make amends, but not everyone is ready to forgive him, so that is something he had to work through and it took quite some time and therapy until he could move on and accept that "Yes, I have been awful. Yes, my friends are in the right to hate me now. No, that doesn't mean that I cannot make new friends now." nightmare: What does your OC have nightmares about? How do they deal with their nightmares? Do they tell people, or keep it to themself? Cindy is generally a pretty positive girl and mostly has nice dreams, but one of her nightmares has to do with her bug Pokémon dying in their cocoons. That is an absolutely horrifying scenario to her and she is always glad when she wakes up and notices it was just a dream. She will check on her cocoons after such a nightmare right away though.

midnight: What keeps your OC up at night? Do they have nightmares? Fears? Anxieties? What do they do in the small hours of the morning when they should be sleeping? So Blaze actually saw how her ex-husband killed her daughter right in front of her (her daugther was an Omen) and then killed her in her grief as well. Now that she is Tarnished, that is an occuring nightmare. She sees the death of her child and her own death played out again, and it makes her feel like shit. She is actively afraid of getting back to sleep then, it was hard enough seeing her daugther die once, but again and again? She also has the face of her ex-husband in front of her, as he looked like a demon in her mind. Her main motivation to be in the Lands Between is actually hunting him down and take revenge. Blaze always liked to cook, so when she cannot sleep, she often starts to make food.

6. How did you choose your OC’s name? Lum -> Lumen, latin word for Light, Lumenos, his full name, Lum, his nickname Kuro -> Japanese word for black and his hair is black. Yeah I was not very creative with this one. Tempest -> Different word for Storm. Hence why Tempest introduces himself with "I am Tempest like the Storm." Rispale -> Anagram of the german word Spirale (spiral). 8. What’s something that your OC owns that means the world to them? What’s something they own that they don’t like, but can’t bring themself to part with? Huh, that is a good question... let's see.. Lum -> I am actually not sure. He isn't the type of guy who is very material and would get rid of things he doesn't need quickly. He has trouble getting rid of any plushies though, even if he drowns in them. What he doesn't like is his tooth prothesis but he cannot get rid of it because it helps him with singing correctly (his two upper front tooth are missing). Kuro -> His aquarium. It means a LOT to him and he would to great length to keep it and all the fishes insides of it. I wouldn't be surprised if he is the type of guy who takes in fishes that have been kept wrong. Kuro would not keep anything that he hates. Tempest -> All his cooking ware. He somehow had it with him when he got taken to the asylum and nobody took it away, so he still owns it. It reminds him of being alive and so he would never ever get rid of it. What Tempest didn't really like was carrying around Smough's soul with him, but he couldn't bring himself to pop it after noticing how important it was to Ornstein. Eventually, Tempest decided to give the soul to Ornstein. Rispale -> Rispale has a shark plush that he adores and will carry around with him everywhere despite being a grown adult. Heck, he even sleeps with it, even if others are around and he is on an adventure. Sharkie comes with him and nobody should try to take it away from him, he will just hiss. A thing he doesn't like but cannot get rid of it are his mom's diaries. His mom died and her diaries are a reminder of her and the pain he went through while she wasted away and also, his childhood wasn't the best and his Mom wrote in her diaries that she waited for Rispale to come talk to her while Rispale was convinced that his Mom would not want to hear about his problems, so their lack of communication is very hurtful to be reminded of. But... that is one of the last heirlooms he has from her. He cannot throw them away. He just can't.

Woah, for all of my OCs! Okay then! 2. What role would your OC fill in a friend group? Lum is mostly the Mom friend. He will take care of people, cook the meals and more stay in the background when there is nobody to beat up. Kuro is the queer friend. You just KNOW he's the gay one and he's proud of it. He also is the driver of the group. Tempest is the one who will always have snacks prepared. This boy is and will go to feed you! Rispale is the annoying big brother, but one that you don't want to miss, because as annoying as he can be, he will also show anyone who messes with you that only he is allowed to do this.

12. What does their bed and/or desk look like? Tidy or cluttered - are they both the same, or is one neat and the other messy? Lum's desk is incredibly neat. He will have put all his things away and clean up each time he used it. Kuro's desk is... not chaotic but also not neat. He has some clutter lying around and he doesn't bother putting stuff away when he is busy with a project. Tempest doesn't use his desk a lot, as he mostly stays in the kitchen, so it is kinda neat by default. The kitchen on the other hand, is either a whirlwind or spotless. Rispale's desk is an absolute mess and he gets upset when you clean it because he claims he cannot find stuff then anymore. 14. How comfortable are they relying on other people, and what situations would change their comfort level? Funnily enough, I recently figured out that Lum wants to solve all his problems alone and it is slowly making him mentally ill. He will have to crash HARD to notice that he can rely on his family and friends. Kuro is comfortable relying on others. He knows there are things he cannot do well like cooking, so he is fine with his husband taking this task while he goes taking care of the garden. Tempest needed help for his quest, but he needed some time to truly rely on Ornstein. Once it clicked for them however, he would never want to miss Ornstein at his side. The same is true for Ornstein btw, he really started to cherish that Tempest takes care of him. Rispale had to learn this the hard way. He was on his own for so long, that he had some trouble letting people into his heart and when he tried, he noticed that the went there all wrong and... it was an ugly realization that nobody seemed to care for him outside of him having the Blessing of Light and the Echo. Once all was said and done however, Rispale doesn't want to miss the help of his companions anymore and will rely on them. He even learned a spell which is literally "ask for help and they appear" in his canon, sooo ^^

What was the original thought that led to the creation of this character? For Lum, I wanted to make a World of Warcraft Roleplay character. He actually was conceptualized as a VERY different character, but he quickly told me that this is not who he is and he pretty much turned into the opposite of this character. For Kuro, I wanted a boyfriend for Lum. Unfortunately, because I didn't know much back then, he turned out to be a gay stereotype. I put this trope on the head by now and like him much more. 5) How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe? Wow, thanks for not doing the numbering correctly, tumblr... Lum's full name is Lumenos and it comes from the latin word for "light", Lumen. But in the end, I liked the short version more, so he usually shortens his name. Kuro is simply the japanese word for black and he has black hair. That was literally all I thought when choosing this name.

5) How would this character act on social media?

Laurence does two things on social media. The first, he posts photos of his cats. The second, he gets into DISCOURSE! You can imagine Laurence as the "sharks are smooth" guy, he never lets go of an argument and goes on tangent after tangent, only that is isn't too troll but he genuinely thinks he is correct. He is kind of insufferable online for this reason and most people hate him and have him blocked. Outside of the ones who are too fascinated and want to see him burn himself. (Which eventually happens btw). 13) Shopping timeeee what outfit/style of outfit does this character put together?

Kuro is always wearing clothes that are slutty! And he likes to pull a thick jacket over so that he can remove it and show how much skin he shows. Of course that is only if the weather is on his side, in winter, he wears more fabric ^^ Lum is just casual. Jeans, shirt, shoes... and on girl days (he's gender fluid), he prefers to wear skirts or dresses. Depends on if she wants to wear breast forms or not that day.

OC lore fact of the day: Lum is big on dental hygiene. He brushes and flosses twice daily, sometimes even more. He also goes to the dentist regularly. He actually quite enjoys the feeling of getting a professional tooth cleaning. He also makes sure to keep his front tooth prothesis in tip top shape. Without it, he cannot sing correctly.

OC lore fact of the day: Lum grew up very poor so as a result he is now pretty stingy and haggles a lot. He simply won't accept a lot of prices and makes sure that he doesn't have to pay a lot of money for it even though he could afford it.
