Melem: (She/Her)
A halcandran mage who specialised in the research of consciousness as a broader concept. While her ultimate goal was an artificial intelligence that could tell right from wrong, she also studied the minds of Dark Matter and how they perform possessions. Overall she is very optimistic and sociable.
Chiro: (They/Them)
A small tamed member of the Dark Matter species who is taken care of by Melem. They mimicked the halcandran family they live with by forming similar ears on top of their head and also copied the wings of nearby dragons resulting in a bat-like appearance.
Xandos: (He/Him)
Melem's brother is a mage who was once involved in the creation of several of the artefacts left behind by the ancients. He ended up conspiring against them fearing that their conquest for power would lead into total annihilation. Usually he's more of a pessimistic character, yet his love for all things dragon keeps him going.
Heiadoze: (She/Her)
She is a humble Noddy who mastered the sleep ability which allows her to wield powerful dream magic, but only while she's asleep. Awake she's just as vulnerable to attacks as any other Noddy. In battle her magical attacks tend to be rather inaccurate, making it difficult for allies to fight alongside her.
Pitchion: (She/Her)
She's a revolutionary from Halcandra who fought the ancients and was subsequently banished, but not destroyed. While she may seem grim at first she is actually quite sociable and silly, however she has distanced herself from most people, ever since the fall of the ancients, keeping her knowledge to himself.
